Pop Culture Exchange — Attraction in Omaha

Highly disappointed, I used to adore coming here. I've gotten good deals, found rare items for my collection, gotten rid of collectables I no longer wanted for a decent pay. I can't say after my latest experience that I'd want to return. I brought in a small collection of boxed figures, three of which highly sought after, I know what I had. I was offered maybe 30% of the value, so I backed out and decided to think on it for a week. While I could have sold on eBay, I don't really have the time nor will to deal with all that due to my job. So after sitting on it, I decided to come back and accept that offer. I get it, small business, a local business, they have to make their money too. These figures would give them a good amount. Little did I know upon returning and discussing, one of the guys would make it out as if I were a liar about what was offered. Acting as though I brought a bag of dirt to the counter. He kept pressing as if I were a fool until the, I presume owner, stepped in and went with what was said. However also acting as though I was nothing more than a bother. Frustrated, I wanted the ordeal to be over, these figures to be off my hands, got the cash and went on my way. However, I returned a few weeks to look some older games for systems like the Wii and PS2. I decide to look over at the case where more, usually rarer ones are held, only to see these exact three figures listed for exactly what I knew they were worth and kept stating that they were worth, only to have reactions and responses as if I were stupid. Well over what I got in cash, each figure just a piece will over what I got. I urge folks to not do as I did. Maybe stand your ground, don't feel pressured or hassled, if you have the time, try to sell on Mercari or eBay, maybe even whatnot. When I called asking for a video game the guy who answered seemed busy, I could hear him checking out a customer and he checked the computer saying I don't have either one of these in stock. I then asked about the possibility of seeing this video game or if it had been something he has seen in the store before.

The remark he made was along the lines of I'm surprised you haven't checked already assuming I haven't looked at the online pricing. Stating that he has been here for 10 years he had thrown that in the conversation so I'm met with the Assumption of why don't you buy it online? Simply enough have you seen this specific video game anytime recently? This is the question I wanted to ask I understand you've been there for 10 years so I would expect that perhaps this information would be a simple yes or no even I'm not sure.

I explained that I support local business and don't trust online shopping he quickly interrupts saying do you have any more questions I've got another call on the line!

This Store was great the first year I started coming here. They have a great selection of items and the prices were really good. I'm an avid toy collector and this place was another place in omaha that i could scratch that figure itch. But one time I showed up on a weekday before work and I was looking and talking to the staff at the cash register but they seem to be a little off that day. I kept coming back though because of the selection but each and almost every interaction with some of the staff got more and more awkward. Recently things haven't improved some of the staff act like they don't know who I am and the transactions are either really awkward or down right rude. As a collector I come to places like this because I would rather support local businesses then go to Target or Walmart. But with the treatment I've been getting from this place from some of the staff it makes me not want to support this place.
