I decided to come here for a quick lunch while on a trip to do groceries, and I'm pleased to be reminded why Runza is so favored here in Nebraska. I had gotten the classic Runza with a side of crinkle-cut french fries and a drink of water. I immediately noticed how steaming hot the food was, which was how I like it. In my experience, some fast-food restaurants out there do a mediocre or poor job at this for their customers.
The freshness of the bread and the savory taste of the beef inside the Runza is another good thing to note, along with the soft and salty texture of the fries. It wasn't mind blowing or anything, but the quality of the food is just enough to make you feel pretty satisfied you decided to come here. The water tasted good too, as it tasted like Dasani bottled water. The price for the food was less than $12, so pretty reasonable for the quality and the amount.
For the service, the cashier was nice and made no mistakes taking the order. To add to that, the food came out pretty quick, at around 2 minutes, so this is another plus.
As for the interior and atmosphere of the establishment, I would've liked some music to be played while I was eating, because I felt like the place was a little too quiet and dull. Granted, not many people were inside at the time, but I think something as simple as music can significantly improve the eating and social experience for a customer(s) dining in.
The tables, floor, front counter, and fountain machine were clean, but I felt like the interior design was too bland and boring. On the bright side, the building does have large windows that face 72nd street, so you can at least watch the cars and people pass by.
Overall, Runza delivers well on affordable, quick, feel-good food, but I think it needs to improve on the atmosphere of their...
Read moreBecause I have had previous good experiences with this location I'm giving 3 stars. Had this been my only experience this would have been a two star review.
I love Runza and visit one just about every time I make it back to Nebraska. However, my visit yesterday was rather disappointing at the 72nd & Pacific location. After finishing our lunch I waited in a single line behind 5 other orders to purchase 3 ice cream sandwiches. When I arrived the counter I asked him if he had to make the ice cream sandwiches or if they were premade. He said they were premade. I paid and he proceeded to take people's orders behind me instead of providing the premade item. Another person came out to take orders and I asked for my ice cream sandwiches. The guy who took my order told the second person hes taking these other people's orders first. There were at least 3 orders behind me; I didn't count. Are you for real? If I had known I'd have to wait in line again to receive the premade ice cream sandwiches I would have kindly declined making the purchase so we could be on our way. I'd already waited in line and had no idea I'd have to wait in line a second time to receive the purchased premade items.
On a good note, the Runza was exceptional, and the fries still beat any other fast food fries by...
Read moreHave been to this location a few times now and each time I’m disappointed because it never seems fresh but tonight is beyond. Picked up a few burgers on my way home because this particular location is about 5-6 minutes from my house. Changed to my sweats and grabbed an ice cold burger. Like cold cold. Not 10 minutes cold but about 1 hour cold. Now I haven’t tried every Runza in Omaha, I’ve only been to 5 locations and the other 4 are consistently good to great but this location is awful. Unfortunately I choose not to own a microwave so I guess I can either heat them in the oven, run to target and buy a microwave or just throw them away. Leaning towards tossing them because god only knows… UPDATE: starving so I tried the oven. It dried the buns out and made them inedible. Tossed them in the trash. Should have just lit...
