Fringe Consignment — Attraction in Opelika

I have shopped at Fringe for over 10 years (literally bought my prom dress there). Always loved it, found great deals, and had good experiences selling things there. Recently I tried to consign some things for the first time (under the previous management, they would purchase for cash as well as consign, and that's what I would do). I researched online to see what I needed to know before going and when I could bring my items. The only mention about when you can/cannot bring items is not on Wednesdays. So took my things on a Saturday and when I walked in was told they don't take consignments after 5:00. It was 5:10. So I left and thought I must have missed something on their site or social media. I went back the next time I could get there before 5:00 and was told this time that they only do drop-offs on Saturdays and they would look through it on Monday (if they only do drop-offs on Saturdays, why did it matter that it was after 5:00?). I went back the following week to pick up whatever they did not want and was told they couldn't take any of my items because they were only taking spring and summer items. What I took was an entire bag of like-new Free People spring and summer items. While I was there, I felt brushed off and like they wanted me out of the store. I hate to say it, but I will not be shopping...

I googled thrift store near me. I was leaving Byrider, and it's only like four mins away. So Maps took me right to it. It's over downtown Opelika by the railroad tracks. I almost changed my mind because I was needing a thrift store, not a consignment shop!! They're NOT the same. Anyways, I was greeted when I came in. All of the clothes are like blouses, and cashmere and other nice materials!! Lol. Quality clothes for sure. I noticed prices are not very expensive, but not cheap either. After a couple of mins I had three things and a lovely girl asked me if I wanted to start a room! She explained I could just put stuff in my own room with my name on it! RESERVED JUST FOR ME!! WHEN I GET READY! I almost spent 90 bucks, four tops and a purse. I'm happy and will be back this weekend.. Nice, clean and good music while browsing without having to hold things you want to try...

UPDATED REVIEW: I used to love shopping here. The store hours make it impossible for any working person to shop. Also, consigning has become very difficult. Unfortunately, I can't recommend consigning here anymore. Last time I shopped I did find a few things I liked but without the consignor's discount, it was more expensive than I expected. I want to see this store succeed but I have just as much luck at the thrift store these days.
