When my iPhone SE started showing bad battery symptoms, I called around to repair shops and was told they’re no longer doing SE battery replacements. I watched a couple dozen YouTube videos on replacing SE batteries, and after ordering and installing a replacement battery from Amazon, my I phone would no longer start. I panicked, knowing my entire existence depends on my IPhone. Okay, calm down, I told myself. I ordered a “renewed” IPhone SE from Amazon (what a fantastic company!) and was happily back underway phoning and playing games and internetting, and stuff, until two months later, my renewed SE began to imitate a slot machine, the screen spinning while I watched in horror! I Googled “IPhone help near me” and spotted MAD GENIUS just 3 miles from my home. I called NATE and, wiping away tears, explained my dilemma. Appointments are necessary but are easy to schedule via the website. I emailed Mad Genius before scheduling my appointment because I had some questions. Nate, the owner, responded to my email with detailed answers. He also was very upfront about costs and was easy to communicate with.

Nate also was the one who met me during my appointment. Just as friendly, and professional in person as he was in his emails.

The turnaround time was faster than expected. I dropped off my iMac on a Friday and picked it up on a Tuesday.

Pricing was very competitive and fair. (Just note that you aren't allowed to supply your own parts.)

The location is in downtown Oregon City and can be difficult to find parking (it's also metered). I highly recommend you arrive early for your appointment.

f you're looking for someone who is more concerned in helping you instead of making a buck, go see Nate. Rather than take my computer to fix and make a quick $500+, he told me I'd be better off getting a new Mac. He even went on the Apple site and showed me the price and letting me know it has more memory. With things so bad for small businesses, I felt bad taking up his time and tried to offer him money for a "consult", which he wouldn't accept. He basically said he opened his own business, so he wouldn't have to treat his customers like big box companies ushering you in and out so fast you don't even know what's wrong with your computer or how they fixed it.
