Simple Elegance Rock Shop — Attraction in Orem

I had scheduled a lapidary class for my significant other and I for her birthday celebration. Scheduling was confusing as we did not know when we were due to arrive nor the itinerary of the class. We had scheduled 2 months in advance for the date of 03/22, when we arrived, we were greeted with “why are there two of you?”, I explained that I booked two months in advanced for two seats, the shop owner argued with me stating that we had cancelled. I kindly advised that we never cancelled and proceeded to show my bank statements showing we had purchased two seats for the class. The shop owner was overwhelmed with having a total of 4 attendees, and directed us to the back of the shop where he addressed the other customers with a “which one of you are not supposed to be here?” Which is such an abrasive way to address paying customers. I asked (even though we purchased two months prior to the date), if we could reschedule, the owner argued with me again in a condensing tone “you’re not going to get another Saturday date”. I asked for a refund and although we did get our money back, it was an awful experience. It ruined my S/O’s birthday and we will not return nor recommend this to our friends. I do not understand how I left feeling like I was the problem for their mistakes, it’s not a good look for a small local business.

This is my absolute FAVORITE rock and crystal shop. They have an amazing selection of EVERYTHING you could want. The guys that run it are the best, they teach you anything and everything you could possibly want to know about stones and have some great stories! I’ve gone in before and ended up leaving 3 hours later having lost track of the time. I won’t lie. I go in to chat with them just as much as I go in to see their selection! They take anyone who wants to go with on rockhounding day trips most Saturdays in the spring and summer and all you gotta do is fill up your gas tank and follow them. They will take you to fun places and show you how to find stuff if you are a beginner! I cannot say enough good things about this place and I will recommend them every single time!
