Thank you for your response. I have returned to the store twice and purchased two more RC cars and accessories. My latest purchase the Store manager gave me a call and was extremely helpful! Pretty much went out of the way to make sure I got the right stuff. The time before I was greeted at the RC cars by someone who was on the ball and ready to sell me something.
I ran into the not so helpful guy on the last visit and well he's obviously mad but that's ok the rest of the staff more than makes up for it over the last two visits.
Great selection of RC products and accessories. I have to disagree with some of the "great staff" and "great service" comments though. I stood by and waited for someone to help me for quite some time with my purchase of a new RTR Nitro car. After at least ten minutes the only person on the floor was showing someone just about every RC car in the place. Not once did I get even noticed. I decided to take the RC car to the back counter where there were no less than 4 people helping 1 customer. I stood there for several minutes before I was graced with a, "do you need something". Well I'm standing here with a $500.00 RC car I thought, I responded, "I'm wanting one of these infra-red temperature readers for engine break in". To which he responded, "uh, um, oh one of these?". Then I asked, "do you recommend any other accessories or anything I should purchase wit this car. Response, "uh, um no". Pointing to the 8 batteries on the box I ask, "so batteries and some fuel?" Response, "yeah you need 4 batteries", it's actually 8 and he didn't even try to sell them to me. Next I ask if they have Top Fuel brand for Traxxas, response, "points to shelf behind counter". I ask what do you recommend for break in, response was a blank stare, I continued, "would you recommend 20% for the break in". response, yeah. I then ask for a gallon of 20% and a gallon of 30%. He brings them to me and I decide to head for the checkout counter. As I am being rung up he joins us to tell me that if I break in with 20% then I should stick with that which was the only helpful thing he actually did. I said thank you for that information and would you give me a anther 20%. He took the 30% gallon and put it on the shelf never to return with the 20% one. My daughter is interested in Lionel. So we came in looking for a one possibly two starter sets.
I had picked one up that was from the 70's. Wanted to enquire about having the engine serviced.
We walk in the cashier greets us and I state clearly our first time there. I do not know the layout of the store. She says nothing. After browsing for 25 minutes I have located 2 starter sets. One NYC freight and One NYC waterline passenger set. That I want to purchase.
I have not been approached by anyone. All attention is given to the RC car section. We even walked through there and no one asked if we needed help. If I am going to spend with taxes close to 900.00 I would enjoy some conversation.
My daughter finds the dice section kinda in the middle of the store. I see someone who was stocking in the models section pass by me. Still no hello or anything. I ask is this your store. He replies no it isnt my store. Chuckles a bit. Pauses then says but I work here.can I help you.i said dont bother and turned from him.
I have to admit after 25 minutes I was pretty annoyed. No are you looking for something nothing.
BTW I explained to my daughterdifferent scale sizes and how much room you would need for a decent layout. All while standing by thier layout display.
Unfortunately for us. We didn't get the train sets I wanted.
There are other stores.
Unfortunately for them thier customer service is lacking. The lost a sale today.
I will say if anyone is modeling O scale or Lionel and will tolerate the scale differences between kline and lionel. They have several SF cars at 20.00.

Read moreWent looking for a spur gear for a Redcat RC truck (they sell redcat). Guy asked what company the spur gear I needed was from and I said redcat. Immediately he handed me the part back and said sorry we don't have replacements, which I understand.
I then asked if he had a similar spur gear or something else I could use. Again and without hesitation he said nope. Really matter of fact about it.
Turns out a lot of spur gear sets will work. A lot. I would have loved to spend some more money here but that's over. He didn't want to help or make a sale. No suggestions, no concern, no cares. It will cost them a new customer and the next generation (my kids).
(Got 1 from amazon that needed to be shaved down a bit on the front plate. $8 delivered same day. Also got a stock replacement on the way.)
Edit to reply: well as I stated you gave 0 effort or concern in assisting. Keep in mind you sell redcat products and could have made even a half hearted attempt to help me order or find a part. Robinson spur gears would have fit fine and you sell them but I would never know unless I tried myelf. Would have been great to see a spur gear in the shop that is similar.
A customer who brings a transmission from their rc is capable of receiving helpful tips or assistance on what to do. I got nothing. I will never spend a $1 at your business again. Neither will my kids. These arrogant replies to bad reviews drive home. Luckily other...
