Came here for the first time cause this location allows reservation. Came here like most for birthday, an hour away from kankakee. We had a bit of a wait, which was fine. We even got moved to their bar and were offered water, which still fine. While we waited place was clean and a lot of space didn't feel like we sat on each other even when we got to our table. The server came to take our order: Sprite with chicken hibachi and white rice. Salad had a lot of ginger sauce on it was good, and so was the soup good. When the cook came out started cooking everything. When he got to the rice he never set 2 bowls of white rice aside for another lady and myself. Finished cooking fried rice he was confused why he had extra rice and just gave others extra. I never got my drink still, and after he put noodles on no white rice still. So looked at his cart and yeah no other carb. This when I asked about it found out the other lady didn't get her rice ether. 2 strikes at this point for me. We end up getting it in the end but totally they forgot or didn't know not sure. Chicken I hope you like dry cause everyone got chicken was dry. I take it they don't brine the chicken cause it is so dry. All food came with ice cream and told the guy asking us what flavor. I wanted mine needed to be to go. Didn't say it at all that they couldn't do it until it all came out on bowls, then told they don't have containers. I would not have gotten it and wasted it. Just disappointed first time. So I advice as a customer make sure you keep track on what you order to make sure you get it. Group want happy after we spent 2 hours there so don't think...
Read moreThe staff is quite new there and some migrated from the Hamadas in Tinley to the Orland location. I've been going here 12 years. This place looks very updated, expensive marble and a nice sushi bar in the inside. However, as a franchise, you would expect the food to be the same. it is not EXACTLY the same. The sauces are a bit different. The ginger is slightly different but good. However, the yum-yum sauce is thicker here and taste a little more like mayo than the other Hamadas in Tinley. The special mix of butter they use to cook is also a different blend. The chop-sticks are nicer still wood, but you can tell Hamadas in Tinley use cheaper stixs. The Orland better stixs. I spoke with management to share my experience and when people come to franchise or a second location, people do expect certain things to be the same. I saw one chef using a spatula with blinking green, red lights when they do their fancy cook tricks. It looked pretty cool. From my perspective, I know chefs can be pretty tough to change their recipes or blends. But, in this case, I am not sure if I'll go back to this particular location as I like the Tinley Park sauces, butter and ginger much better. For Sushi, I might go to the new location in Orland. You'll see what I mean if you are hardcore Hamada fan like me and my...
Read moreI came here for my 21st birthday last Tuesday and was very DISAPPOINTED. Things started out well and the manager was really nice and welcoming AT FIRST. I had a table of about 13/14 people for regular dining and they gave us only one server. Which half the table had the dinner order put in before the other side of the table even was able to order a drink. Most of us ended up ordering hibachi but they brought out the actual food before we got the soup or salad. You can tell the food was rushed and my steak wasn’t even cooked all the way and I really lost my appetite. They didn’t give or offer the ice cream or sherbert (that you are supposed to get if you order hibachi) and no one said or mentioned happy birthday at all. We all felt rushed and honestly racially profiled by the staff once we got our food. They stopped being friendly and all they did was rush and side eye-us especially the lady in the front host stand with the bun and glasses. They definitely just wanted our money and didn’t care on how they treated us considering they get an automatic tip with the gratuity they put on our check. I don’t recommend this spot at all and if you want good hibachi and service go to Hamada in...
