Recently visited this location since its new as we usually go to the River North location. The restaurant itself is very nice, however, I feel the spacial layout and services is lacking.
First off, when you enter, there really is no reception desk. Theres just a counter with a partition behind it which makes the girls have to keep turning back and forth. Theres also about 4 receptionists. Too much clutter as you first enter, especially as guests are arriving.
The market food bar is all the way in the back by the kitchen (which yes, convenient when taking out food directly from there), however, if you are sitting all the way on the opposite side its like a maze having to find where to scoot yourself in between these very close tables just to get back to your seat. Not to mention strollers in the way and people with disabilities or oversized people. If a few tables would be taken out, it would be a better flow. Maybe if there is a row down the middle left clear for guests to enter and exit the same way. It's just very scattered, chaotic, and stuffy.
As a guest, I would not want to sit in the middle and have people passing by me and either bumping into me or asking me to move because there's not enough walking clearance.
Service - not going to be so tough on this because this is a brand new restaurant. However, everyone is very young and was overall nice, but there is a lack of either order and communication or the waitresses/waiters were just overwhelmed with working a weekend shift. Took about half hour to get our drinks when we first sat down and meats took a while to come out. Meat discs were bought to our table after a while after eating our market bar food. Same with dessert, took over half hour. On top of that, our bill was sent back about three times since it needed to be adjusted and we were charged wrong. This added another 45 minutes to our visit.
Otherwise, the food and drinks were good. I would like to come back maybe in 6 months or so to check on improvement as this is a closer location to our home.

Read moreWe were so excited to try this new Fogo de Chão location in Orland Park since it’s close to home, but the experience was a huge letdown. We came for a special date night and left completely disappointed and I ended up sick the next morning.
We told multiple servers that we only wanted medium-well or well-done meats, but they kept bringing us medium or even rare cuts. Every time, they’d say they’ll come back with our doneness level, but they never did. We sat at our table for so long before anything even started coming out, and even then, it was barely any cuts of meat. The staff are extremely slow although it was not busy at all.
We kept asking again and again for bottom sirloin and filet mignon, and no joke, almost every server on the floor heard us ask. We didn’t get filet until after we had already finished our food and ordered dessert and only because Lora went out of her way to make things right. And even then, the filet was dry, overcooked, and flavorless. I honestly don’t know what their idea of a well-cooked steak is, everything was either too undercooked or too dry and overdone. Nothing in between. Lora was the only good thing in this experience. She was kind and genuinely tried to make it up, and we truly appreciated her effort. But sadly, one good staff member isn’t enough to cover for poor management and terrible service overall.
To top it all off, I woke up the next morning extremely nauseous and ended up throwing up the food. I’m also pregnant, and this made me extra concerned about the quality and doneness of the meat that was served.
We’ve been to Chama Gaucha several times and always had a great experience there, this doesn’t even compare. We genuinely wanted to give this new Fogo location a chance, but we won’t be coming back. We’ll gladly drive the extra distance to Chama for much better food and far...
Read moreEverything was bad, and we regret celebrating our anniversary there. The place was so crowded, and seating offered no privacy whatsoever. People sitting beside and behind us had to keep bumping into us, not to mentioned that there is no way to have a private conversation with their seating setup. Then the poor meat quality. EVERYTHING was dry although we kept asking for medium-well temperature. It took almost 15 min after we finished our salads (salad bar was below average, they barely offered one type of cheese for example) to get the first chance to try some meats. You can easily tell that there is something with the quality of the meats, not to mention it was tasteless and dry. Then it takes forever to get someone to come to your table to offer more meats. Also, we noticed that we got no mashed potatoes at the very end, and when we asked if they still do that because we noticed some tables had it, they said yes without even apologizing for missing it, and then it came so watery and tasted nothing like potatoes (I suspect they use the cheap mashed potatoes powder, not real potatoes). We did not eat it just like most of the meat. We literally had to go another place afterwards to make it up for ourselves. And by the way, despite I told them that we were celebrating our anniversary, they offered nothing, not even a little happy anniversary at the end.
I saw many bad reviews for this place when it first opened, but I thought it was just due to the opening and such because recent reviews looked better. Now that it has been open for months, they have no excuse. I guess we will never go there again, I would rather drive 45 min to the better place that we always go to rather than going here again for the convenience. You are supposed to leave happy and satisfied when you pay...
