The service: a gentleman greeted us and sat us, and then brought us menus. At that point I had to ask him for a quick wipe down on the table because of the little sprinkles of powdered sugar left over from the last customers, not a big deal at all. Especially the one back corner of the table closest to my wife was really obvious. He clearly seemed upset by this request and reiterated my question back to me as if to say it must be a hallucination and I'm over reacting. I usually just wipe it myself in these scenarios and would never ask an employee, so i was already embarrassed a little, and then he tries to gaslight me about it? And then walk slower than a snail baby to make it happen... Here's the kicker: he came back with a rag and did the WORST little wipe of the table as we all physically locked eyes on that dirty corner when he passed by it without reaching far enough to get it clean. He even kind of shrugged, I saw him see it, he just COULD NOT be bothered. Here's the cherry on top, he then proceeded to stand at the bar eating a bag of chips for THE ENTIRE TIME we were there. So when I saw him grab menus and seat other people it made me wonder how much of his licked finger juice was on our menus too, and now a part of our meal. Just wait till you get a break my guy. Not cool. A terrible little mark on an otherwise flawless customer service experience by the wait staff ladies.
We came here because it was highly recommended. Our experience seemed to be highlighted by possibly a brand new chef, or some kind of kitchen malfunction, because we are sorely disappointed in the food quality as well.
Gorilla coffee: incredible. All the drinks in fact were amazing. And they seemed to be made by one person up front by the bar in particular as opposed to the rest of the kitchen items in the back.
Kids pancake: way overcooked. They tried to hide the more burnt side on the bottom and show the better side to display as the top of the pancake. But it never should have left the window. My kid had to dig at the edible part on top and leave the burnt bottom skin behind. What the heck.
Kids grilled cheese: my first thought was 'oh wow it looks like either really good bread or homemade bread. NICE! It wasn't nice. The grill was too hot again and burned the bread on both sides to where even the two little slices of kraft American cheese didn't melt all the way. WHAT. I'm pretty sure kraft singles will melt if you just hold it in your hand for a minute, how is it humanly possible to serve unmelted kraft chz??
French toast: you guessed it, overcooked. I could tell the recipe was good, and the egg mix kind of runs out of the bread to give you that yummy layer of extra texture-but the dang grill was too hot and that egg looked like a thick piece of gray rubber human skin flapping off the side of the toast. I couldn't even look at it without gagging. It was an uncanny skin texture and never should have been served.
Special chorizo tacos: presentation and recipe was flawless. The problem was the 'mixture of potatos and chorizo' that was supposed to be the heart of the taco... It was just mashed potatoes. And very hard to stomach. Maybe my fault for imagining crispy home fries or something.... But this was not a pleasant mouth feel, it didn't taste fresh made, and it would have been impossible to eat except for the amazing blend of veggies and toppings to make up for it (and basically hide it).
I don't know you guys. My wife has eaten here before so I know I can trust her recommendations... and as soon as we got to the car she said 'i think my French toast was better the last time we came here'.
My kids aren't picky... We aren't picky.... Everyone ate their food and no one complained. I didn't say ANY of this to the staff and that little comment in the car was what made us actually talk about the experience.
I want this place to succeed... We are huge brunch fans. And we even know that brunch menus are more expensive than most breakfast places... But this was a more expensive brunch than I've had anywhere, even...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really wanted to like this place...so much so I went twice but ended up dissapointed both times. First time we went we only had coffee as we weren't aware they were a full service cafe and the coffee was OK but not anything to rave about. Second time I went was this past Saturday and I went by myself since I was in the area and wanted something healthy and delicious for breakfast. The service was terrible! I literally sat at my booth for a good 7-10 minutes before the server came up to me to ask what I wanted to drink. They had people but were not super busy and it seems like I was the only one taking longer to get served...don't want to speculate why because I'm not that type of person. I ordered their "Cuban Benny" which is a plate with rice, beans, pork and 2 poached eggs. I waited for a while for my food to come and although it was pretty tasty it wasn't hot! I waited a while but again, I didn't mind because it was Saturday morning and I was just hanging out. When the server finally brings my food just drops the plate and doesn't even ask if I need anything. I waited for a while but my plate needed something so I had to GET UP MYSELF to go get hot sauce only to find they only had siracha (which I don't like) and as I was standing up someone finally asked me what I needed and they brought me Frank's hot sauce from the back. Not once did ANYONE ask me how my experience was, how my meal was and the blonde girl who checked me out looked like she was miserable and did not want to be there. I do not recommend this place because as previously stated, I went twice and they truly don't seem to care about their patrons which is sad because I don't like to go to any chain restaurants. I paid $18 for a breakfast that was not memorable at all and to be treated unfairly, big waste of...

Blissful in Orland Park truly lives up to its name. Our visit was nothing short of spectacular, deserving of an astonishing 10 stars. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a host who exuded warmth and friendliness, making us feel instantly welcome.
The food at Blissful is both clean and delicious, prepared with evident care and quality. We tried the omelette, which was simply amazing, and the pancakes were absolutely delicious. What stood out even more was the impeccable service. Our server was incredibly patient and knowledgeable about the menu, expertly guiding us through the ingredients and options. She memorized our order after the first time with a smile and ensured our family was well taken care of.
As someone with specific dietary needsāgluten-free, sugar-free, and carbohydrate-freeāI was particularly impressed by their willingness to accommodate my modifications without hesitation. They made my meal exactly as requested, with grilled sliced tomatoes and no potatoes or pancakes, which is a rare and refreshing experience compared to other restaurants.
Blissful's professional and friendly service, combined with almost no wait time and a pristine environment, makes it a true gem in Orland Park. I can't recommend it enough. For anyone seeking a delightful dining experience with exceptional food and service, Blissful is an...
