Stay away from this place. I booked my wedding reception with Garden Tiger and paid my deposit. When we met up with the event planner to see how things would be arranged she was planning on our event being outdoors. When I told her that we booked the indoor space (written in our email exchange twice) she became very upset and told me that's not what I said. Additionally, while we were planning our drink menu with her she told us that she would not have enough chairs to accommodate our guests and that we would have to “play musical chairs” with our guests. I’m sorry but I’m not about to play musical chairs with our elderly family on our wedding day. My fiance and I thought for-sure she would follow up with an email apologizing about the mix up with the indoor/outdoor space. Instead she followed up with an email saying we needed to pay more money for our number of guests. Despite the emails stating “up to 50 guests” multiple times and us having less than that. Additionally, the indoor showroom space when we had walked inside was very hot and humid. I believe their AC was broken and maybe that's why they were trying to charge us more. After all of these mix-ups, we didn’t trust that Garden Tiger could host our special day. So we canceled our contract with them within the rules defined in our contract. We followed the 30 day rule, sent certified mail, and even followed up with an email. They refused. This business seems like they don’t have the overhead to pay their bills and are trying to get money from others just to get by. The owner didn’t respond to us. The event planner responded but would never say they were issuing a refund. How this business can maintain operations by selling plants and having irregular hours is a...
Read more‼️business location is up for lease & empty upon visiting this week‼️ I’m not from Orlando but visit often while my partner comes for work. I always rent a vehicle just to make my rounds of local Orlando shops/spaces that I’ve grown to love. The Heavy was one of them, so I have been excited to visit this new concept for awhile. From their Instagram it appears as though they’ve opened & even have hours in their bio. There have been no updates to their Instagram since October & no info on any of their sister companies either (the Heavy, Porch Therapy who recently left East End Mrkt to join Garden Tiger, and another business I’ve never visited Dry Janet or something like that). I made the drive this week thinking that I’d be able to find them open during their posted hours. Instead I found an empty building with several “for lease” signs and a handwritten “closed” sign with no other info.
Super disappointing when I’ve been looking forward to visiting & continuing supporting this business group on new endeavours. I am seeing all of the reviews now & am disappointed for the Orlando locals wrapped up in their...
Read moreThis is one of those places that leaves you torn between wanting to recommend it to everyone versus keeping it a secret so you can enjoy it! Their partnership with Haan Coffee (still in soft open, so check hours and availability) has made this one of my favorite places to enjoy my morning coffee. The view of Lake Formosa through the floor-to-ceiling windows is lovely and the environment is calm and soothing; the background music is present and pleasant but not distracting from the atmosphere they're trying to create. I hope this spot is around for years to come, and I'm looking forward to seeing everything that...
