Come check out the kids suite at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando Florida, located on Universal studios property! We loved this room as it was a great way to spread out after a long day at the parks, we were able to walk to the park entrance and received all day express passes during our stay! #hardrock #hardrockhotel #kidssuite #universalorlando #universalstudiosorlando #universalstudiosflorida #fyp

Extremely overrated hotel. There is nothing ‘hard rock’ about this tired old hotel. The rooms were poorly decorated with only a sprinkling of anything that would indicate you’re at the hard rock. The carpets looked like they’ve been down since the 80’s. The amenities were poorly maintained and the huge build up of dust almost everywhere was outrageous. We started the stay with no bottled water in our room, but come day three a member of staff knocked on our room door and told us they were “replenishing the water in the room”. We didn’t think anything of it and took the two bottles into the room. We soon noticed a card around the bottle necks indicating the bottles were $7.99 each! We didn’t drink them, but a charge of 18.90 was added to our bill at the end of the stay! Apparently, by accepting them into the room we had bought them! I had these knocked off the bill. Door to door sales scams by hotel staff is just disgusting! At the end of the stay, I’d decided I’d had enough of tipping everybody and was down to my last $5 which I’d normally stick in the charity bag on the plane home, so I went to collect a trolley to take my bags from the room to the taxi. A member of the front desk team ran and grabbed the trolley from me whilst politely stating “we’re a full service hotel, sir. We can handle that for you”. I reluctantly agreed and followed the bell hop down the lift to my room and back up again, all whilst listening to how he makes $9 an hour and that he’s 50 years old as though his poor life choices and lack of ambition were my fault! He proceeded to insult people from my nation because “Brits don’t tip”. This Brit tipped over 30% for everything from meals to taxis whilst he was there! The pizzas in the little shop were delicious and reasonably priced. The food and service at the Palm restaurant was exceptional, although the venue was way too noisy for a fine dining venue. The staff at the Velvet bar were attentive as were those at the beach bar. For a premium hotel costing around $400 per night, the experience felt sub par and disappointing. We would never return. We chose the Hard Rock mostly because of the complimentary express passes for the parks, but wished we’d stayed in the Best Western down the road and bought the Express Passes each day we needed them.

The good: The location is great with an easy and mostly shaded 5-10 min river walk to the parks. Some of the park rides are entertaining. The bad: Prices are outrageous. We stayed on the club level, which gave us extra amenities like early access to the parks, unlimited fast pass, and few other perks within the hotel itself. The problem though is that only one park has early access per month, which was Islands of Adventure during our stay. Since we wanted to do separate parks each day, that meant that half of our two days we could not use this benefit. For the day that we did use the early access for Islands of Adventure, they only really had one ride, Hagrid's, that was open early... by the time we got through the gates (even an hour early), the wait time was already 75 minutes. Add to this the fact that rides were shut down multiple times (even at open) at each of the parks during our visit, and we even got trapped on one for 20 min before they freed us and only offered a free 2 ride fast pass (no value to us because of what we had already paid for the unlimited fastpass) made this trip not worth the price. Hotel service was mediocre as the front desk checkin took 20+ minutes to do even with only 3 parties in front of us (with three different hotel clerks working). There weren't robes in the room and calling the front desk netted no results after 45 minutes, so I ended up flagging down a staff member in the hallway to get them. I didn't care about having an iHome alarm clock but that wasn't present along with some of the other listed room amenities so I felt like there was quite a bit of false advertising when I booked directly through the hotel. I've also attached our premium hotel room view of... I guess this is the garden view, but it looks more like a dirty rooftop, parking lot, and construction area to me. Overall, between the two instances of ride failures of which one we got stuck on, the poor customer service both at the hotel and parks (where employees are literally complaining aloud how they "just want to go home" or looking annoyed), and the false/misleading amenities I would strongly encourage people to find alternatives to the Hard Rock Hotel vacation package.

What a horrible experience when an issue arose. I'm usually pretty lenient with things and laid back. This place just doesn't give a crap about service or taking care of their guests. Arrived and checked in ok. Everything good so far. Friendly front desk. Friendly staff directing traffic out front. Drop stuff off in the room. Head to the parks. Long travel day. Long wait for dinner. Get back around 9pm and there is a significant water leak causing a dripping into our room. Call the front desk... They send maintenance. It's now almost 10pm and they can't fix it tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Just deal with it. They don't set down any towels or anything. After a brief discussion with the front desk....... I'm told that there are no other rooms available and that their maintenance guy is on it. They offer me breakfast...... Already have it. Then $100 room credit. Seriously? How am I supposed to get my girls to sleep? Such a big disappointment for a vacation that they've been looking forward to for so long. Ugh. Probably the last time we stay here even though it's our first time. The location is fantastic with the proximity to the parks. Getting unlimited express passes was amazing. Pool was decent. Food at the restaurant.... The kitchen.... Breakfast buffet was amazing. If you have no issues with your room, then this is a great place to stay. Just know that if you have any issues...... They don't take care of the guests.

We had such a great time staying at Hard Rock Orlando. Staff was fantastically friendly, and the food was delicious. Proximity to the parks was the icing in the proverbial cake.
