I don’t know about you guys but one thing we are always going to do on vacation, is EAT!😜 I’ve realized that when I go on vacation I love to eat and try as many things as possible. So I always make sure to set out a comfortable budget for us to eat ALL the things without worry lol. This time we made sure to stop by @voodoodoughnut before heading into Universal and it did not disappoint! You can find it at @universalorlando 🍩🍩🍩 #VooDooDoughnuts #Foodie . .

If you're looking for a creative and quirky atmosphere to get your fill of tasty spins on a classic american treat, look no further than Voodoo Doughnuts. Set in the heart of City Walk at Universal Studios, this shop is turning the volume up a notch by hand crafting off the wall doughnuts creations that will have you coming back again and again. The eclectic environment sparks plenty of opportunities for photo ops, and has many options to choose from whether you're looking for the traditional or vegan take on the little round morsels. All of the flavors I tried were very fresh. My personal favorites from my first half dozen were the Mango Tango, Diablos Rex, and the Voodoo Doll. The line was fairly long, but it was almost unfelt with the many souvenirs and decorations in the store to help keep your eyes and mind busy, as well as the doughnut carousel set in the heart of the stanchions displaying all the flavors available to choose from. However great the place may be, there were definitely some areas where they can improve. Although there were many vegan options available to choose from on the menu, most were sold out at the time we went (roughly 6 o'clock), despite them being open until 1 am on Saturdays, which made the selection limited for my girlfriend who couldn't eat the traditional options for dietary reasons. Also, the Doughnuts were all stacked in a deep square shaped box that caused them to melt on each other and ruin the presentation, which made the photo op worthless. If they're looking to take the social media world by storm with glorious photos of these well thought out designs they spend so much time creating in the kitchen, and take advantage of free marketing by satisfied cleintel, they may want to rethink the shape of the sloppily put together shipping container. All in all, I would definitely return and try them again next time I am in the area.

They have a great selection of vegan donuts and I’m sure they’re great..when they actually have them. Waited in the 30+ minute line to be told they didn’t have ANY of their vegan options or the non vegan doughnut I was getting for someone else. This wouldn’t be an issue at all if the sign the employee near the entrance was holding with flavors had something over the flavors that were out of stock. I understand spring break is ridiculous but the ones that aren’t available at a given time should be marked so someone doesn’t not only get excited for a particular flavor but also doesn’t take up the space in the line and have to wait so long just to be told it isn’t available. (I’ll update talking about the actual doughnuts if I get to return and try them next week.) UPDATE: I got glazed, chocolate frosting, and apple fritters The glazed imo is foodgasmic given what’s normally available to me so if you want a half or a full dozen of those don’t feel bad! The chocolate is pretty good The apple fritters are HUGE, BUT very oily and of course have less fine of a texture. Didn’t get to try the maple bars as intended but if they’re like the glazed they’re good. In conclusion it’s worth the wait, PRO TIP- if you want vegan ones or a specific flavor later in the day go up to the desk and ask if they’re still available before hopping in line. May your doughnut dreams come true Ps. VD if y’all want to start shipping (out of state) I’ll definitely order 👌

As a donut-obsessed person, former bakery worker, and dessert blogger, I've been dying to try Voodoo Doughnut but have never had the pleasure of being anywhere near one of their locations. Imagine my joy when we were walking to the Universal Studios entrance via the Citywalk and spotted Voodoo Doughnut! My party was down and quickly got in line. Voodoo Doughnut at Universal CityWalk Orlando had a very reasonable line (the shortest line we would see all day) that moved very quickly. While you are in line you can see all your doughnut options and their names for quick ordering. You can also order via their app and they have a special pickup area. The prices of the bakery are competitive, the ordering process streamlined, and customer service friendly. Our baked goods were also boxed up nicely without smashing up the goodies. Everyone in our group very much enjoyed their doughnuts. I absolutely LOVED the donut I chose, the Miami Viceberry. It's a perfectly raised doughnut with white frosting, blue sugar dust that tasted like blue raspberry cotton candy, and bright pink sprinkles. It's a gorgeous donut that is drool-worthy and delicious! I can't stress how much I loved and enjoyed it. It was a perfect start to my/our Universal Studios day and by far the BEST thing we ate while at Universal. I absolutely would recommend stopping at Voodoo Doughnut if you are going to Universal CityWalk, Studios, or Island Adventure!

What to say about Voodoo Doughnut? First of all let me say that I do not particularly like doughnuts. Having said that, I will say that Voodoo Doughnut made me change my mind. And I will tell you why. I usually suffer from heartburn right after eating doughnuts, so I'm already on defense when even offered a piece of one, especially if it has a filling. However, I am so happy to announce that I have finally found a place where this did not happen. Voodoo Doughnut is a breath of fresh air in the sweet and fun indulging of doughnut eating. The store is sort of hidden on the left of the San Francisco Hubbard street inspired area where Menchies is, and they do such a great job at utilizing part of the outside of the store to run a separate queue in order to serve everyone well. The decoration is out of this world, where pink serves a great canvas on which to put up crazy good graphics and delicious doughnuts. Even the uniforms are pink. My favorites have been the classic glazed, the butternut bar, the maple bacon, and the dirt (oreo inspired) doughnuts. Not such a fan of the chocolate used to cover them such as the one used on the chocolate and peanuts doughnut. Also, the one with Bavarian cream was good but it could be better. However, as mentioned before, I was heartburn free so no complaints! Keep up the good job and great service with patience to help us choose what to eat!
