We ate at this location on 10/11 after a long, fun day at IOA. What a disappointment. 3 stars is generous and I really regret ending our day at this location. We arrived around 730 pm and waited about 10 minutes total for a table. Not bad - but it went downhill quick. First, the booth we were given had a leak in the ceiling above it. That was great fun trying to keep the constant dripping out of our food, out of our drinks, etc. Luckily, I absorbed most of the rain on my left sleeve when it wasn't pooling at the edge of the table. Second, we waited around 15 minutes to be acknowledged by our server. We waited so long, actually, that we were preparing to leave and go to another establishment. Server arrived, we gave drink orders and an appetizer order. One drink was brought (tea) while the other three "would be out soon." As our server set the tea down, he greeted the booth behind us who had just sat down. As we waited for the other 3 drinks, we listened to our server question the people behind us about where they were from, etc. When he heard that they were from Georgia, he sat with them and recounted a story of his police interaction and his open-carry vs concealed-carry in that state. He then advised that he would have their drinks out "in just a sec." And he was right - he did have their drinks out in "just a sec." As he breezed by, we asked for our drink order to be brought and the tea he brought earlier be refilled. So, 17 minutes later, we get the appetizer (dip with chips) and still no drinks. As a member of my party was getting up to get a manager, the drinks magically appeared and luckily for the booth behind us, they received their refills at the same time. Finally, we give our food/entree order. Food arrives, it was just okay. The two in our party who ordered a sandwich and a burger said their food was very good. I can say, without a doubt, that the chicken strips were dry and gross, and I would have had a better dinner Chik fil a. Very overpriced for the quality and quantity. Best part of our evening was the ridiculousness of the situation. From the leaking roof, to the lack of service, to the stories of guns and police with the table behind us with our server--- we just had to laugh. But the truth of the matter is that it was just such a let down. For the price point, the food was definitely lacking in both quality and quantity. The service was subpar at best - I have had more polite, better attentiveness at fast food establishments. Way too many food choices on CityWalk to waste our money here. We will...
Read moreJune 16, 2025 Update I was contacted by the Assistant General Manager last month, who was very kind and understanding. He listened attentively to my concerns. I provided him with my photographs and detailed the issues regarding both the ventilation and the food quality. He offered a sincere apology and compensation for our food and for the inconveniences we experienced. He assured me that the issues were being addressed, confirming that the ventilation system had indeed been cleaned and repaired. Additionally, the concerns related to the food quality were duly noted and addressed. The company did a wonderful job in their customer service satisfaction and in retaining our future business. I have changed my star rating to reflect the exceptional company customer service provided.
On May 11, 2025, at 6:22 PM, our family of 5, (2 adults, 3 children), made the unfortunate choice to dine at Bubba Gump at Universal City Walk. Having visited this restaurant multiple times before, we were shocked to encounter what can only be described as the worst meal experience we’ve ever had.
Our main issue was the vent directly above our table, table 25, which was in unacceptable condition. It was leaking contaminated dirty water and debris directly onto my husband’s food. When we alerted our server, a worker was sent over with a stick and a rag to address the problem. I had to insist he stop immediately, as attempting to clean the vent over our food would only result in more contamination falling onto our plates and us.
By this time, our 4-year-old was asleep, and our other two children had barely touched their meals, which were shockingly inadequate portions for kids. We had already reached the point of wanting to leave rather than switching tables.
The manager eventually approached us and offered to replace my husband’s meal and comp his food, which was a commendable gesture. However, he attributed the vent issue to the rain, as if that excused the neglect. I showed him pictures and made it clear that this ongoing problem had not been addressed and posed a significant safety concern. He smiled and brushed off my concerns, which was frustrating.
As for my meal, the Forrest Seafood Feast was far from appealing. The fish was overcooked and dry—completely inedible. In the end, we ate very little of our food. This experience was completely unsatisfactory, and we left feeling hungry and thoroughly...
Read moreWe hadn't really eaten all day and we were super hungry, we saw thw reviews were pretty good here even though the prices are fairly high so we left our hotel and went clear to city walk to eat here. We got seated quickly but it was in a weird spot with no one around us in a booth that was right by the kitchen and drink station seperated with a pony wall. One girl took our drink order over the wall and then handed us waters over the wall which was bizarre and hard to grab. We weren't ready to order yet and asked for just another minute. She didn't come back for 10 minutes and then we waited over 20 minutes for our food. We walked in at 9:00 PM, our food didn't arrive untill almost 9:40 and a completely different girl dropped off our food and didn't ask if we needed anything or fill up our waters. My husband wanted some sauce for his chicken so I flipped the sign over to ask for help and I timed it, it was a full 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. I got the scampi, the noodles were so dry and the sauce was so watery that it wouldn't stick to the noodles at all, the parmesean cheese in it didn't even melt at all. The chicken tenders had zero flavor. Again, not a single person at this point checked on us, filled up waters or asked how our food was. We had to flag someone down for our bill. I immediately put a card in it but the girl had already turned around and walked away. I put the bill on the ledge and after several people walked by it a manager finally grabbed it and rang up the bill and then just handed it back and didn't say a word. We never saw our original waitress again she was busy helping close down the restaurant and serving literally every other table besides ours. Super disappointed in the food and the service I have never been treated so poorly and it was so bizarre because every other table seemed like they were having a great time and got their drinks refilled. $50 for shrimp scampi with 6 shrimps on it and chicken...
