I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel that left me greatly disappointed. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that my expectations were not going to be met. Here are the main issues I encountered during my stay:
First and foremost, upon entering my room, it became evident that the floors had not been properly cleaned. There were visible dirt and stains, indicating that the room had not been thoroughly attended to before my arrival and also during my stay. This lack of cleanliness was a major letdown and made me question the hotel's standards of hygiene.
To my surprise, the bathroom was also missing a basic necessity—body wash. Instead of a properly filled bottle, I found a bottle that had been carelessly refilled with water. It was an unacceptable oversight, as guests should be provided with essential amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.
Another major issue I faced during my stay was the fact that only one elevator was operational. This resulted in significant delays, as it took an incredibly long time for the elevator to arrive. Moreover, the elevator had a recurring problem where the doors would repeatedly open and close before the elevator actually started moving. It felt as if someone was deliberately pushing the door open button, creating an unsettling and inconvenient experience. These issues not only caused frustration but also raised concerns about the safety and maintenance of the hotel's facilities.
Furthermore, the air conditioning unit in my room was exceptionally loud. Its constant rattling and whirring made it difficult to relax or get a good night's sleep. It felt as if I was sharing the room with a jet engine. The lack of soundproofing amplified this issue, causing unnecessary disturbance throughout my stay.
Overall, my experience at this hotel was far from satisfactory. The uncleaned room, absence of body wash, malfunctioning elevator, and noisy AC all contributed to a stay that fell short of basic expectations. I hope that the hotel management takes these concerns seriously and addresses them promptly to improve the experience for future guests.
While I understand that issues can arise in any establishment, it is important for hotels to prioritize cleanliness, amenities, and maintenance to ensure a pleasant and comfortable stay for their guests. Regrettably, this particular hotel failed to deliver on these essential aspects, leaving me with a negative impression of their services.
I strongly recommend potential guests to carefully consider their options before choosing this hotel, as my experience was far from what one would expect for a satisfactory stay.
Despite the numerous challenges I encountered during my stay, it is worth noting that the hotel staff remained friendly and accommodating except on the issue with the body wash . They were attentive to my needs and addressed my concerns to the best of their abilities. Their professionalism and kindness were appreciated, even in the midst of the other disappointing aspects of my experience. The positive attitude and helpfulness of the staff added a glimmer of positivity to an otherwise...
Read moreThis is a pretty mediocre hotel. I think it is good if you are visiting universal Orlando since it's located 20 minutes walk from the resort. There is nothing remarkable about the hotel and it does not feel like a Hyatt.
Price: we booked three nights in the hotel during the last week of September. I think the price was around $180 per night. This is probably the higher end of the price i'm willing to pay for this hotel.
Value: it could be a good value if you can find rooms under $150 a night. I think above that it's not worth the price in my opinion.
Location: the location is great if you want to visit Universal studios or islands of adventure. They are walking distance from the hotel. It took us ~20 minutes to walk to Universal. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to go to universal but it is not very frequent and you have to reserve it in advance. I find it to be not at all convenient. It would be much better if the shuttle ran more frequently.
Room: The room itself is pretty large. Other than that, there is nothing remarkable about the room. They provide a fridge and a microwave in the room which can be convenient and there's also a sink in every room. But the bathroom is really small compared to the room and you can barely open the door without it hitting the toilet. It feels more like a bathroom in Tokyo rather than in Orlando. The water pressure in the shower is also rather low which is a pet peeve of mine. Other than that the room is pretty clean and barely sufficient.
Service: the service staff is friendly and polite. However, the hotel does not provide any housekeeping for the 3 nights we stayed. They also did not provide any body lotion in the room. We had to ask for it and after that we got a few bottles. This is the first time I have ever stayed in a hotel where a body lotion is not provided so that was surprising to me also. Also, no one responds to our phone calls when we dial the reception from our in room phone, which I find strange. We need to go to the reception in person to get anything done. The hotel does provide a water fountain for filling of water bottles which is very convenient and not found in a lot of hotels.
Dining: on one hand, it is great that the hotel provides free breakfast. This is great when you need to go out to the theme parks and don't have a lot of time to find breakfast. But the breakfast is very limited and most of the time they do not even have plates you can put the food on. Once you find the plates they are often out of hot dishes such as potatoes and you have to wait for a really long time for them to come back and once the food comes it's gone pretty much immediately because a lot of people are...
Read moreI stayed here for two nights with some friends while visiting the Universal Orlando theme park. I would say it's a fine hotel for the money. The room was satisfactory with plenty of space. I got the room with two queen beds and a bunk bed and it very comfortably slept four adults.
I take off one star for a few reasons. Firstly, in the morning, upon check-in for the first night of our stay, I asked if it would be ok if we ate the breakfast since our stay wouldn't technically begin until that night and the woman at the front desk rudely told us that we would not be allowed to do so. I found this very odd as the breakfast is a buffet with very subpar food. And to make matters worse, the following day when I was allowed to eat the breakfast, it was terrible and I had to throw away my whole plate. The apple juice didn't even taste like juice. It tasted like artificial sugar. The eggs were completely inedible. So the complementary breakfast was totally useless to me. Otherwise the stay itself was fine.
The room was not noisy at all and pretty clean from what I could tell. There is a little refrigerator to keep food items in as well as a little kitchenette which I thought was pretty neat. Nice cold AC unit which makes sleeping more comfortable. Bathroom was pretty basic and nothing fancy at all but got the job done for a quick stay.
Free bus/shuttle to-and-from the park is definitely a nice perk. Be prepared in the afternoon for the last bus because it gets very full as I believe the bus services multiple hotels. If you're feeling up for it, you can walk back to the hotel as it's only about a 15 minute walk. A nice opportunity to burn some extra calories :)
$22 per day for parking is a bit steep considering I only paid $120 per night for the room.
I would recommend staying here if you can get it for a rate of $90 per night for two queens which is the rate that I was offered with Triple A membership discount (add $25/night for bunk bed.) Just plan on eating breakfast elsewhere unless you can stomach eating inedible...
