My family and I were in Florida on vacation and seeking a Juneteenth family activity. Although Disney was on our list, we wanted something new and educational as well. I found Wells'Built Museum while searching online and thought it would be a great experience. We were not disappointed! The history of the hotel and the collection of artifacts are very interesting and the kind lady who is running the museum and giving mini tours is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about southern Black history and how it ties together in Orlando.

Wells'Built Museum is definitely a hidden gem and I would love to see local churches, non profits, and the community get more involved to see it continue to grow, be able to hire more researchers who can organize, label and give even more info on the artifacts and have more resources and fix basic needs like the air conditioning and share the importance of this museum with local youth and future tourists like ourselves!

The experience was great for me as a millennial with a multigenerational group including Gen Z, Baby Boomers and a Silent Generation matriarch. We all enjoyed the museum and displays! Keep up the great work...

This is one of the few African American Historical Sites in Not only PARRAMORE but all of Central Florida. I plan on running for Mayor of Orlando in 2027-28 but in Preparation for my run as the first Muslim Americans I plan on the preservation & of current Minority Historical sites. I am a major proponent of protecting, funding repairs & adding a Second Building to the Wells Built Hotel Museum to become the Permanent Home of The Orlando Museum of Black, Indigenous and Minority groups of all religions, races & cultures From the Nightmares of the Oviedo Massacre to MLKs speech at tinker field to the Election Of Jerry Demmings and Everything good and bad so we don't forget awareness of the many times our community failed its Non White Residents to it's most glorious Progress and People from Zora to Shaq. I also want black owned businesses to be a major part of my Downtown Rejuvenation and Dedication to providing jobs for those in PARRAMORE. I look forward to proving myself to you #BubbaGagneMayorOrlando2028. When is the best time to visit when the museum director is available. Thanks Chris " Bubba" Gagne Orlando Native EST 1976...

The Wells’Built museum is a reflective look on Orlando’s lengthy history of inequality. It showcases overlooked local African American excellence as well as informational pieces on segregation in our city. The tour guide, Katrece, was very wonderful and easy to talk to. She truly made the experience memorable as she offered insight on Orlando’s history of segregation and the history of Dr. Wells himself. The building itself was the only hotel in all of Orlando that housed very famous African Americans throughout their tours, such as Billie Holiday or Louis Armstrong. It has a small museum feel and for only $5 for adults the knowledge you receive is priceless. They also had Wells’Built exclusive reading for sale such as this book which added a deeper look into what it was like to live in Orlando during the 50s. To get the full experience, I highly recommend talking to your tour guide as they have a lot of knowledge to...

Beautiful place. The best part was, our tour guide, Katrece. She has a great energy, happy, knowledgeable and respectful about the place. I love how she shared history and also share some stories about her life. I really appreciated when the tour guides share their story because I feel how the roots go through the years. With, her examples, she made us realized different things. We made questions, and she was happy to answer. I think it is a great place and for 3 dollars it is just amazing. I was thinking buy something, but I did not love the design, I think if they work to make it look better about size, color, and something more woo. You can make some money with souvenirs, just a suggestion. Big hug, nice team. (We were a group of students around 17) CCI program students. 2021 - 2022
