I wish I could say this was great. I really wanted it to be.
First we didn't know where to park. Those directions could have been better. Once we'd parked in the garage and walked to the train station, we weren't sure if we were in the right place. There's a small banner for AGA on the chain link fence surrounding the train station but not a big "Meet here" with staff waiting or anything useful. It could have just been an advertisement as far as we knew.
The tour started late. This was not AGAs fault. The 2 other guests were lost or something. The hosts were pleasant and apologetic and eventually said we need to get started without them, but then they showed up and we left shortly after.
While we were waiting on the others and chatting about our personal ghost stories and departed loved ones, the host told us not to divulge any personal information about ourselves that might take away from the experience. We figured there must be some psychic medium type experience possible. There was nothing like that. I'm not sure why she even said that. She said none of them are mediums.
Our guide, Susie (I think) was fun and knowledgeable. I like when younger people have an appreciation for history. It was a very cool history lesson about Orlando.
The first bit of the walking tour felt like a commercial for local business. Telling us which places are fun to go, where has drink deals etc. I get local businesses wanting to support each other, but that's not why we are there. That's just wasted time on a time limited tour, IMHO.
We were told to bring cash because there are places to stop and eat/drink. Although we walked past several businesses (really just bars/clubs), we weren't offered to stop at all. A bathroom stop was offered once. We stopped an excessive number of times to take group and couple pictures. Not pictures to check for orbs or anomalies or anything related to why we are there, though. It was probably 5 times or more. I hate feeling obligated to pose for a picture. Once is tolerable but it got irritating.
The area is pretty sketchy. There's a lot of homeless walking and laying around. There weren't any issues but I spent a good deal of time looking over my shoulders.
We watch the ghost hunter shows all the time and they have a lot of tools to communicate with and discover spirits. What we had were what I assumed to be just be old and cheap EMF readers. There was no full spectrum camera, SLS camera, spirit box or anything else we've seen on TV that helps prove anything. It feels like they run this as cheaply as possible. I didn't have unrealistic expectations about spirits but I guess my expectations about the tools provided and getting to go into the buildings were. We got to go into one building at the end and had limited access in the train station where we started, but that looked like a storage room with the center of the room occupied with what I'm guessing is a big Christmas decoration broken down into its pieces.
Overall it was mostly just looking at the outside of buildings from the street view and saying "this is what happened in there..." Was it interesting? Yes. Ghostly experience? Not even close.
I enjoyed the history, and had this been sold as a history walk I would have...
Read moreWe attended the 2-hour investigation on 04/04/24. However, we practically begged Branden to let us pay the difference and stay for the 4-hour extended version of the tour. During this tour, we communicated with several spirits from different buildings. Two child spirits had taken a liking to me and another guest on the tour within the seance room at one of our stops. The young spirits Emily Elizabeth and Nicholas were very active, at one point even setting off every piece of equipment at once in the two connecting rooms. We directly communicated with Nicholas and Emily Elizabeth for 15-20 minutes, receiving rapid, intelligent responses using the dowsing rods provided. It was incredible; I personally received physical touch from Nicholas when I asked for confirmation that he was standing beside me. I sat down to connect deeper with this child spirit and can recall feeling a chilling spot in front of me around my chest and arms, almost as if I was receiving a hug from this young boy. I had a seemingly darker experience at the tour “headquarters.” While walking down the pitch-black hallway, a dark figure jumped from the room I was walking past and in front of me. The energy felt like it wanted to jump me… it was quite intimidating.
Regarding the company itself, this was by far the best and most professional company I have ever taken a tour with. Branden was incredibly educated, answering any questions we had. He was caring, constantly checking in on us throughout, as well as super personable. He made sure to stay close while myself and the other guest were investigating in the seance room for our safety. Once we met up with Abbie, she was a blast! She spoke with my grandmother about a presence in her home and gave her some insight on how to take care of it. I wish I could give this company and its guides a better rating than five stars, as they deserve it. We will definitely be back again if we ever find ourselves back in the...
Read moreThis was the first ghost tour our family has ever been on, it's always been something we have wanted to do but with all the theme parks in Orlando, we never would get around to them. I searched on Google and found American Ghost Adventures. We wanted an investigative experience and we were not disappointed. Our tour guides Abbie and Taytum were fantastic. They showed us the different equipment we would be using and how to use them properly. I walked away feeling that I had actually made contact with a departed relative which was very close to me.
The 2 hours of the tour were great, not too long that the younger family members would get cranky and tired, and better than just one hour where time seems to fly by. We had told them we wanted more of an investigative experience, and even though we did get to do a good amount of investigation, we also were pleasantly surprised to learn about the history of Downtown Orlando and the handful of spirits which occupy some of these old buildings and sites.
Our guides Abbie and Taytum were great, friendly, courteous, very knowledgeable and most of all fun. They really took the time to help us with the equipment and also guide us so we knew what questions to ask the spirits. Everyone in our 12 person group, walked away from the experience at the end of the night having really enjoyed ourselves and feeling we learned a lot of facts about the city we have visited so many times before.
Highly recommend this company and their 2 hour tour if you want to have a well balanced experience of history, stories of actual sightings, and hands on experience with equipment inside...
