8/20/18 CONNIE & ALEXIS ARE WONDERFUL!!! My daughter just had a very pleasant, and then unpleasant experience this evening at our Oshkosh Hobby Lobby store. She is getting married in the fall and making her flower girl bouquets from silk flowers from Hobby Lobby. They were out of stock last week, so they ordered more of her specific flowers. The flowers arrived at Hobby Lobby today and they called my daughter to tell her they had arrived. Very thoughtful!
So, my daughter went to the store and was helped by a lovely lady named Connie. She was very sweet and helpful! Connie said she was "in training" and was unsure of how to page someone to bring the flowers up to the front of the store. She apologized (which she really didn't need to do) for being new and unsure of how to operate the paging system. Unfortunately, her "manager" snapped at her and was ruder than RUDE to her! It's unfortunate that this manager is the person training new employees because she is very impatient and disrespectful. Connie, however, handled herself very respectfully and was gracious and kind, despite being badgered by this female manager.
Alexis brought the flowers up to the front and she was sweet and kind, just like Connie. She understood that Connie was a new employee, and she obviously remembered what it was like being the newbie on the block, and she was very helpful to my daughter, and to Connie. I would have given Hobby Lobby 5 stars because of the helpfulness, good manners, and display of kind, Christian values, by Connie and Alexis, BUT their manager changed my opinion. She obviously does not have the kind Christian values that Hobby Lobby proclaims they subscribe to and stand behind. Perhaps Miss Manager (her name begins with a J) could use some "sensitivity" training or "people skills" training?
I applaud people like Connie and Alexis who treat customers with kindness, respect, and goodness, and so should Hobby Lobby. But please get your manager onboard because she was unkind and disrespectful to her own employees, which is so unnecessary and unprofessional. Life's just too short for that type of...
Read moreTwo employees turned their back on me today when I asked for help. It wasn't very WWJD. Hobby lobby is in the middle of rearranging; four entire rows of crafting supplies have gone missing. After two laps, I was unable to find the product I was specifically looking fo; nor any back end employee to ask for direction. My problem started between laps one and two. The first cashier I stopped to ask dismissively replies "I don't know", and went back to fidgeting with bags that didn't need arranging. I thought to myself 'rude, but whatever' and took a second lap. Found nothing. Upon checking out, the second asked "Did I find everything all right?". I replied "no, and entire section/rows are missing" and asked if she knew where the products went. "Oh no, our managers don't tell us anything", she says, as she continues to ring me up. I was nothing but pleasant right up until that moment but then I did get huffy. Flabbergasted that both ladies were so dismissive, unhelpful and undertrained. It's not like I was asking a question that hadn't been asked multiple times by other customers today. I told them I was disappointed in their poor customer service as I left the store. Hobby lobby has really gone downhill with their product choice since covid hit... And now without the lack of the 40% coupon, there is no reason for me to shop there anymore. The prices are always cheaper on Amazon. But if I need something right now, I'll be going to Walmart or heading next door to Joann's...
Read moreWent in Saturday 6/9/18 for supplies. Amazed at the wonderful deals, friendly staff and cleanliness of store. I didn't mind browsing around for a little extra then what was on my list. In fact I made a second trip back later that evening for more. Standing in the only checkout lane open. I realized everyone decided to check out at the same time. NO PRESSURE! I have no issue waiting. Iv been that cashier before "Many times"! NEXT THING I KNOW 3 employees come up to help relieve the backup. The manager even came up to inspect and assure things ran smoothly then proceeded to open up a register himself to assist. No sour attitudes. No heavey breathing as to make the customers feel wrong for checking out at once. They just handled it!!! Within a matter of seconds each customer had their own personal lane to go down and 0 wait time! Being it is was close to closing time and having worked in customer service myself. I realize the counting down drawers is a tad annoying with only one transaction being ran on it. However, you put your customers first. To that I say thank you and a...
