My wife and I have enjoyed Red Robin over the years, as have our daughters. We have been there many times as a family and as a couple. The food has always been very good. The atmosphere has always been pleasant. Service has historically been generally good. Today, however, we didn't get any service.
I have to say I was shocked and disappointed. We went there today at about 3:30 PM for a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was mostly empty. There were three tables (that we saw) with guests on the bar side and only one table seated on the main side (a group).
We were seated quickly. And then waited. And waited.
And waited.
A tall blond guy with glasses was attending the group. A dark-haired woman with a ponytail was wandering the area by the kitchen. We made eye contact with the blond guy while we waited. He stood against the wall by the kitchen. Doing nothing. After 15 minutes, and after we noted the dark-haired woman was evidently not coming, and the blond guy took a dessert order from the large group but ignored us, we got up and left.
As we walked out, both workers on the main side watched us leave. We noticed the waitress on the bar side was standing at the bar, leaning over with her back to the tables (presumably on her phone), and the hostess was (oddly) standing very close to the game machines with her back to everyone. She told us to have a nice day as we left. She had just seated us about 15 minutes previously and didn't ask, for instance, "Is everything okay?" So weird.
As a veteran, I'm dismayed to see our younger generation so careless. As the husband of an ethnic woman, I struggle sometimes not to think the worst. As a general consumer, I'm irritated that we came in hungry, left hungry, and were completely and absolutely ignored.
While we've enjoyed Red Robin for a very long time, I doubt we'll be back. I think we cut that cord today. Likewise, as we left, a car of five pulled into the spot next to us. I warned them to consider not bothering and briefly explained our experience. Evidently, they did not bother because they pulled out...
Read moreI normally have been extremely impressed with Red Robin but my visit last night was far from the standard. Our wait staff was not exactly what I would call a customer service representative. Conversation barely included the normal topics and courtesies. All three people in my party felt like an inconvenience to not only our waitress but to restaurant staff, such as the host. The atmosphere was very pleasing. The lighting and decorations created an inviting atmosphere making us feel welcome, unlike the staff. The food on the other hand was outstanding. I am not exactly sure what they put in their burgers to make them taste so good but I am always impressed with the burgers. I got the burning love, I think it was called. It was very messy but was worth every bit of the mess. It was the perfect combination of heat from the jalepenos and delicious beef in the burger. An interesting fact regarding the burgers: all three of us ordered burgers and each burger came on a different type of bun. The fries are good, and as advertised, they are bottomless. My meal filled me up and I didn't need more fries. Overall, I am impressed with my visit with the exception of the customer service. I would give this place a four out of five stars as the lacking customer service could have been due to many factors. Although it negatively impacted our visit, I understand what it is like to be wait staff. Four out of five stars...
Read moreThey got kids in the kitchen and apparently they did not practice proper etiquette when passing food around. Now I’ve been ordering from this place and truthfully never had a problem. For some reason today January 21, 2022 I place my same usual order which is wings and steak fries I get all the way back home and it looked like somebody took their hands in catch-up and played around with my fries and also got salad on them. In reality to me I’m thinking they’re giving me old fries off of someone else’s plate. Part of my fries were warm the other were cold. I wish Google will allow us to post photos so I can show you exactly what my fries looked like they were scraped off of someone else’s plate that was done eating never have I ever got my fries like that the manager tried to explain that they use gloves and sometimes the gloves are cross contaminated with other things because they’re touching so many different things and I guess she didn’t realize that was a problem. Doesn’t matter what kitchen you in you can’t touch one thing and then touch something else and think that that’s okay what happened if I have allergic reaction or something. As expensive as that place is OK really it’s not that expensive I’m just venting but still that’s not right they need to have better kitchen etiquette with handling food even though I know I was eating someone else’s fries that they...
