Elegant Couture — Attraction in Palos Township

Ok, so this might be lengthy. This is my first experience prom shopping, Elegant Coutore was our first stop. The owner was super friendly and nice, we picked about 5 dresses, my daughter fell in love with the 3rd one. She wanted it right then and there. But being that I don't have a lot of money and this is an expensive purchase for anyone, I wanted her to really make sure she loved that one, since it was only the 3rd dress she tried. We ran 2 other places, 1 being the place down and across the street. I wish we never stopped in there, the woman, I think owner, working there asked if we had a picture of what she was interested in, we showed her the dress we wanted to purchase at Elegant Coutore, she proceeded to tell us, that Elegant Coutore was not supposed to be carrying those dresses and she could get them in trouble, that she is licensed to sell those dresses, they probably got theirs from another shop in Louisiana, that was lie number 1. (I checked the manufacturer website when i got home and it shows both stores are licensed to carry their brand) She tells us she doesn't have the dress but she can get us that dress, and that the dress is probably out of season, maybe even 2 seasons and she's gonna check. And I should be getting it cheaper, at least $100. Going on telling other customers in the store how the (derogatory remark) down the street are trying to sell us an out of season dress at full price. And they always do that etc. At this point she called someone, now my daughter and I are sitting there like what? I've never prom dress shopped before but now this lady is filling us with stress and anxiety. My daughter has tears in her eyes. And I'm like I don't care, if you love that dress let's just go get it. This lady keeps trying to stall us while she waits for her call back. I tell my daughter let's go, we leave go back to Elegant coutore, my daughter tries the dress on again. She still absolutely loves it. This lady calls me to tell me her contact looked and it is out of season and claims she can order it for me over the phone, at this point I'm overwhelmed. I said no, I'll call her back. I speak with the sales associate at Elegant Coutore, she assures me it is not out of season. But not only did she do that, because she can see how overwhelmed and stressed I am feeling. She gave me a discount for the trouble the other shop caused me. The owner then comes by and we tell her the story. She went above and beyond to show us this is a new season dress from the spring 2023 collection. She showed us her documents from the manufacturer. They didn't have to do all that, but she wanted us to feel comfortable with our purchase. She is a lovely woman. I see now, that girl down the street was just trying to steal a sale when Elegant Coutore was the one who took the time with my daughter and I. And after I got home and looked at the reviews I am so glad I left there and went back to Elegant Coutore and spoke with them. They were honest and upfront. And I will be back for my next daughter. Our dress is on order, I will update after we receive it and have alterations done. But I appreciate the owner putting us at ease because that other owner down the block filled us with anxiety. Extremely Disappointing Experience

I was recommended this place to buy my daughter’s dress, and a couple of months ago, we went to see what options they had. When we arrived, the only person in the store at that moment was busy with three women at the counter. She saw us walk in, but didn’t acknowledge us, not even a simple “I’ll be with you in a moment” or “Please give me a few minutes.” We overlooked this because she was the only one working, and we understood she was attending to customers.

However, what followed was humiliating. About five minutes later, the women she was helping left, and instead of addressing us, she chose to ignore us, arrange things on the counter, and then head to the back of the store without saying a single word. No “Excuse me” or “I’ll be right with you.” It felt like she thought that if she ignored us, we would just leave.

Since we stayed because we wanted to see dresses, another five minutes passed before my sister had to go find her in the back. When she finally came out, instead of apologizing, she gave us attitude, and the very first thing she asked before even offering any help was, “What’s your budget? So I can see if I have something,” in an arrogant and dismissive tone.

To this day, I don’t understand why she was bothered by our presence or why she treated us that way. The moral of the story: give your business to those who treat you well. We ended up buying the dress at Peaches. I had to drive to the city, but the service we received there was outstanding—and, ironically, we were helped by young ladies, not by a woman over 40 who should know better.

If I could give this place negative five stars, I would. My intention was to support a local business, but in the end, driving farther to the city was absolutely worth it for the professionalism and respect we...

After having a bad experiences at a different boutiques I came to Elegant Couture for the first time. Now, I have not and will not go anywhere else. Needless to say, finding Elegant Couture was not only refreshing, but simply a pleasure in all aspects.

Meeting the owners was completely a delight. You can feel from entering the store to speaking to them, they enjoy their business and their clients. You can feel a real sense of team and spirit of a happy, healthy and harmonious environment.The owners are tremendously helpful. They will not let you leave their boutique unsatisfied. The owners are very professional and fun to work with. They are very friendly and I don't ever rush you when searching for that perfect dress.

I highly recommend Elegant Couture, to anyone in need of a dress. They carry the top designers in the dress industry, a huge variety,outstanding quality, great pricing, most pleasurable environment and most importantly the customer service is to die for!! I literally can't wait for another event to come up, to be able to go back and find another amazing dress!! You will enjoy your experience!
