The staff here was nice. We chose it because it claims to be the longest track in the area. We also did mini golf. They have plenty of go-karts, single and 2-seaters. Check prices and height requirements before going because there is a minimum number of laps per person. Also, at the time we were there, they offered 10 laps for $25, but only during a certain time frame and per person. If you have any coupons for racing or golf, they aren’t accepted if you choose a package or other discount there. The track is really long, but not overly challenging if you know how to drive. It’s mostly flat with a ton of turns. The karts must have gone over 25 mph because my phone reacted a certain way, driving mode, and it only does that if you reach over 25 mph. They do not allow hats on the track and actually have boxes in the station in which they recommend putting your belongings. You do have to almost stop after every lap to hand a guy a ticket. I personally think they could come up with a better system somehow, but I guess the slowing down is the way they want it. We did the fountain golf course, which was the shorter, easier one because we had a 3 year old who gets bored easily. He was actually entertained by this course. (We didn’t have to pay for him but I forget the age limit for a free round.) The equipment is nice, setups are in mostly good condition, but it’s not exactly brand new. Everything was nicely painted and intact when we were there. Most of the 18 holes were about average, but I wouldn’t call too many of them “straight shots” because there was mostly some kind of hill or bump or turn involved. Nothing amazing or new, but about what we expected. There were leaves scattered at some of the holes, but that just made it a little more challenging. The $50 on the 18th hole is not a joke, and they take it very seriously, but the shot isn’t as easy as it looks. We will recommend families with smaller children for this mini golf, but I’m sure other courses are more...
Read moreWe went to the Hidden Lagoon to play mini-golf. One benefit of this location is that the 18th hole (which is super difficult), offers the chance at winning $50 for a hole in one. My fiance and I got to the venue around 9 PM. Tickets were $12 a person. The man at the front desk was friendly but didn't really give any instruction other than there were two courses: The Waterfall Course which is hard and the Fountain Course which is easy. We opted to take the hard course which had several obstacles to surpass. This course had bumps, curved/tilted surfaces, obscured views, and/or had one or multiple holes with tunnels that led your ball to another patch of green with a separate hole. The scenery and the actual course layout was neat, but there were a TON of people. At nearly each of the 18 holes, we had to wait in line for 6-10 people to finish before we could go. Luckily, there are benches along the path on which to sit which was nice. There was also a line behind us, so we felt a bit rushed as we didn't want to hold up the line. The sign said that you have 7 tries to get the ball in. Several of the people there (including us) stopped after the first few tries instead just so that the people behind could go ahead and go. The waterfall feature was cool since you get to walk on a bridge through a cavern behind the falls, however the water smelled like sewer. Some people gave up and left without finishing the course due to the long wait. In all honesty, I was about ready to leave by the 8th hole, but we stuck it out to finish the course. The location typically closes at 10 PM, but we didn't finish until after 10:30 PM due to the long lines. The mini-golf experience at the Hidden Lagoon wasn't as great or as fun as I'd expected. In hindsight, I'm positive the racetrack would have been a much...
Read moreDO NOT RECOMMEND! If you’re looking for a good time for your buck you need to visit RACE CITY! We went here to Hidden Lagoon one night during our trip (which we’re still on) and needless to say it was a waste of money and time! The people here take their job way too seriously.. and it ruined the fun! I understand safety, but literally I felt like I was getting booked in jail the way the man spoke to my friends and I! They continuesly told us to “slow down” like the karts even go faster than what I can run. Also, the way you have to hand over your ticket to a man while riding the karts is completely ridiculous! My tickets flew out of my hand and I didn’t even get to complete my ride! Also we paid $60 for myself and fiancé, which is way over priced compared to what we paid at RACE CITY for a far better experience! We attempted to play put put afterwards at the same location.. it was 9:30 and the place closed at 10pm... the security cop that was by desk said we had time to play a game, but the rude girls behind the desk said “oh no, we’re closed”.. so we left disappointed, but found a MUCH BETTER PUT PUT PLACE AT the SAFARI PUT PUT (I believe that’s what it’s called, it has all the safari animals.. can’t miss it)! WILL NEVER EVER SPEND ANOTHER DOLLAR OR AMOUNT OF TIME AT HIDDEN LAGOON.. and plan on making sure no one else gets the same poor experience. As I’ve stated at the beginning, RACE CITY IS THE SPOT.. we went there tonight and we cannot believe how much happier we were with the experience,...
