If I could give 0 stars, I would. Where to even start...We chose this hotel because there just isn't much of a selection of pet friendly places in Panama City and we really wanted to bring our 2 little dogs instead of boarding them. When we walked in the room smelled mildewy and was hot. We immediately turned the AC to the coolest setting, which claimed to be 60 degrees. We left this morning and our room was never cooler than 80 degrees, which is miserable on a good day, but unbearable when one is sunburned. If we had not carried a box fan with us, we would have been unable to be in there. Every stick of furniture in the place was beat up, falling apart and stained. The bed clothes were the cheapest grade one could buy at a Dollar store with pillows that looked like the ones they have in hospitals with almost a paper-type covering on them. The linens were also cheap and rough, which didn't matter because you couldn't sleep in them because of the heat. The cleaning staff came one time, to crack the door and leave towels on the bathroom counter while my boyfriend was in the shower. They didn't clean one time and we had to beg for a garbage bag. We thought perhaps it was because of the dogs being in the room, so we caught them and told them we would stay in the room with them if they would clean for us. They said they would, but never came. The bathroom smelled like urine when we got there and continued to do so after we went and bought cleaning products to clean it ourself. There is very little parking at the hotel, with a spillover lot across the street. It might have been adequate IF the hotel required patrons of their restaurant, Sharky's, to use that lot instead of the lot for hotel residents, but they do not, so when you leave to go eat at night, the restaurant patrons take all the hotel parking and YOU have to park across the street. The hotel advertises being dog friendly, but the dogs are not allowed on the beach and there is NOWHERE to take your dog to walk and do his business. You have to get in your car and drive to the dog beach at Pier Park for that. Fortunately, I had pee pads and my dogs are trained to them. I would say you get what you pay for, but $300 a night isn't cheap. They DO have an icemaker, but you are not provided a bucket for it. Not that it matters, because you are lucky to get 1 cup of ice out of it. They have exactly 2 rickety luggage carts to use, but the tire fell off the one we used getting into the room. My boyfriend repaired it. This morning when we were trying to leave it became apparent that 2 rooms had decided to keep the carts in their rooms last night. My bf sat at the pool for an hour waiting for one of them to come out of someone's room this morning when we were trying to leave. All in all, this place pretty much singlehandedly sucked the enjoyment out of my hard earned and much needed vacation. Do yourself a favor and do...
Read moreDo NOT stay at the Reef at Seahaven Resort! Got here and the room was not what we were showed on the website! Then beds were supose to be queen and it was 2 double beds! Tried to call the office to tell them and phone doesn't work. We went down to tell them everything and came back to the room and balcony door was standing wide open but thank God nothing missing. Then tried to shut the door to our room and it won't latch! So anyone can come in! This place is crap! Stay as far away from Seahaven as possible! Also realized later when trying to watch TV the remote will not channel up and the hair dyer would work. The beds are so old they have actual metal springs in them. They only thing positive I can say about this place is, it is on the beach and does have a nice view. Will not stay here ever again! !!!! Don't be fooled by the pictures on this site because they are NOT accurate at ALL! Also the elevator wouldn't work most of the time there. On the last day we had to carry everything down 3 flights of stairs to pack our car to leave. Would have left on the first day and stayed somewhere else but couldn't get our money back and all the hotels close by were booked. Never again! ! Hotel is extremely run down! Very old! Very out dated! Even at an older hotel you should get better service and better beds, doors that shut and lock, a TV you can see with a remote that works, an elevator that works, ice machine & coke machine that work without taking your money, bed without a metal spring sticking in your side, shower that doesn't take until the next morning to drain and just maybe a phone that actually works so you can call the front desk without walking down 3 flights of stairs because the elevator doesn't work! We were also told had a refrigerator and it did not. So, we ended up buying a cooler and since the ice machine wouldn't work half the time we had to keep buying bags of ice which I know doesn't sound like a big deal but whiny you budget for a trip you expect things to go sort of the way the hotel says it will be. Not enough parking either. It wasn't the cleanest place either. Smelled funny. I wouldn't even walk barefoot in the room. I did not feel safe at night either. Lots of noise from other guest out side our room about 3 o'clock in the morning. We were lied to and felt cheated by this hotel. Website very...
Read moreLet me start out and say the staff was nice and the beds were surprisingly comfortable.||This is the biggest dump I’ve ever stated in. Absolutely dirty. Now don’t get me wrong, if I was in high school and packing 10 people in a room I’d be satisfied, but never in all of my life have I been in a hotel such as this.||I will first start off and say there is no parking as it shares a parking lot with Sharky’s and it is all taken from the people at the restaurant. But don’t fear! You can park a block down and across the street which is just so convenient to stay here….||The elevators have not been service since installed in the 70s. The maintenance guy told me I had to help slide the door for it to close. Also, it’s quicker to take the flight of stairs than to wait on the elevator that you can fit a max of 2 people in. Which with the luggage carts that have flat tires, what more could a guest ask for?||Splurge at the Dollar Tree and bring your own soap because the ones supplied smell about like a nursing home.||But the stay gets better, there are no phones to call the front staff so you are forced to wait 7 minutes for the elevator or walk down the stairs. The hotel has ZERO irons because of the “spring breakers”. I stayed here in September, a good 5 months after spring break and I am a grown man with a family. I assured them I would not make grilled cheeses on the iron, but they wouldn’t take my word for it, no sir.||But let’s not forget the concrete walls that looks about like a section 8 house you see on TV. Man, if those walls could talk do you know what they would say? Paint me! It’s been 40 years!||The chairs at the tables had sand just waiting in them for us. The shower had mold in it. I actually came out dirtier afterwards than before I went in. ||Who doesn’t enjoy sitting on the balcony in some plastic chairs that came from the clearance aisle from Walmart that you hear crack every time you sit down? ||But at least they have a 14” tv with a black square in the middle that is blocking the picture. Fortunately we watched a football game that was fuzzier than my brain when I booked the room. ||So to summarize the adventure, don’t stay here if you are old enough to buy alcohol and bring your own soap and iron.||My favorite thing was when I walked down the road and across the street to get my car and checked out of this...
