Sooo much was horrible about our stay! We arrived to check in around 6PM. After driving for 7 hours, we were ready to just be able to get to our room and relax. I was fighting a terrible migraine and wanted to get through the check-in process as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, that did not happen at all!! The first station to check in was easy enough. Aside from being told, we had to put up a $250 deposit that was not mentioned with the booking. That wasn't an issue, but we should have been given that information ahead of time. After this clerk had given us our keys and told us our room number, we thought we were good to finally get to our room. NO! This is just when the absolute hell started. We had to go over to a "concierge" desk to get our resort bands. Okay, great. We thought we would just be given these bands and would be able to go on our way. Not in the slightest! The girl at the concierge desk was named Krissy... Krissy seemed nice enough at first. I haded her our room keys and my drivers license. Thinking that she would just double-check our booking and give us the bands so we could go on. Once she had those items, the questions began. Asking us where we were from and how long the drive was. Then she started with the compliments. "Oh, I looked way too young to be in my late 30s." How we should hang out, and she would show us around. Not to get sucked into the area because we would never leave. Yada, Yada, Yada. In the beginning, I thought she was truly just trying to be nice. This wasn't the case. She was simply buttering us up to go into a huge spill about going to a timeshare presentation. We told her that we were not interested. She didn't even blink! Going on and on about how she (NEEDED) us to do this and that for her. How we would have this amazing time, and she promised we would love it. We continued to say NO, but she would not give up. She then started promising us this amazing free vacation and then added free tickets to all these attractions and then added free money on top of everything else. We continued to save no and that we really just wanted to go to our room. I told her I had a major migraine and that I really didn't feel like listening to a gemic. Remind you that this whole time, she still has my driver's license and our room keys. She hasn't given us the bands or anything. This is just us standing at a desk from close to 45 minutes listening to her make all these false promises for only 90 minutes of our time. Whatever! We were beyond over it at this point and gave in to agreeing to go to the wonderful presentation. At this point, she then wanted my credit card. Oh, hell no. I wasn't about to give her that! I told her flat out that I was not giving my card out again. I had already paid for our room and the huge deposit at the original check-in. She then literally looks like she is about to cry and explained that she will get in trouble if she doesn't get us to go to the presentation and that is we promised to show up she will bypass the credit card. We said yeah okay fine.. Can we please have our things now? Oh, she moved us quickly after that. Gave us the bands and was back to being all happy and bubbly again. We walked away from the desk FINALLY close to an hour later! We were given room #1538. Once we made it up to that room (you have to take 3 different elevator rides after you park in the parking garage across the street from the actual rooms) We realized it wasn't even the room that we had booked! Fed up, and just over it, we decided to just deal with the room we were given. The room was fine but definitely needs cleaned and updated. See photos attached. Nothing like what was advertised or what we expected. The next day is when the harassment started! Krissy and those timeshare presentation employees began calling both our room phone and my cell phone constantly!! It was literally over and over again. Non-stop! When I stopped answering the calls, they came and slid paper in our room, stating to make sure we show up and to bring our credit cards and drivers...
Read moreWe booked on an RCI exchange. Upon arriving the check in agent was friendly and accommodating. We were advised the Wyndham elevators are down for remodeling and to use the elevators for Emerald tower which are on the opposite end of the building. We were also advised the beachside pool and hot tub were shut down because someone did not follow the rules and broke glass in the pool. I do not fault the resort for the pool issue; however I hope the person causing the issue had a consequence as it impacted many others vacations. Next you move on to the counter to obtain the wrist bands and they try to sign you up for a Wyndham sales tour/owner update. Here we are told that there should not have been any exchange fee by RCI because RCI and Club Wyndham are part of the same company. We paid the exchange and we were offered to attend the sales pitch and get a refund/credit back to RCI account. Sales clerk was friendly when we turned down the 90-minute presentation. If there should not have been a fee, why do we have to attend a 90-minute session wasting everyone's time, to get a credit back. After checking in we navigated to our room. The good about the room: Great view, contained everything we needed and if ran out of paper products staff was quick to replace. Areas that could be improved: The master bedroom closet doors do not work properly and were hard to open and close, the master bathroom needs minor repairs such as attaching the shower head grommet and replacing or repairing the baseboard on the sink. The room door sticks and is very hard to open and close. Most of these issues could be repaired in a short time period. We have stayed at other Club Wyndhams and were impressed, not this one. The pool by the parking garage was nice and one of the two was heated. The games by the pool are in rough condition and some games such as shuffle board are missing Biscuits and have bent Tangs. When the beach pool opened, the pool was nice and had plenty of seating. The pool patio was not very clean and there were old paper towels and cigarette butts on the patio. The women's bathroom by the pool was not clean and had items like the garbage can duct taped. The first few nights were peaceful and relaxing. On the Monday night of our stay there was a dog in the condo next to ours that started whining and barking at about 1:30 am waking up everyone in our unit. Finally, at about 3:30 am we called guest services and they could hear the dog during the call. Someone came up in a matter of minutes and tried to make contact with the guests who did not appear to answer. Based on our research before booking this resort was a no pet allowed resort, not sure when this changed and later the next day, we seen the dog out of the room and no vest signifying a service animal was seen. The following night the dog was only heard when opening or closing the door but our entire day had been thrown off as we were all so tired from the disruption and being awake for most of the morning. There was also a cat observed being pushed around in a stroller by the pool Apparently, this resort is now open to pets. If you have any pet allergies, be aware there are dogs and cats staying in some of the Wyndham rooms. Walking the outside corridor to get from our room to the elevator there were unit doors open and the smell of Marijuana was strong. In summary, we work hard to be able to take a family vacation and, in the past, have liked Club Wyndham resorts, this one is not aligned with our past experiences. It appears if you are not going to buy from their sales agents and are already a member or owner you do not get the maintained updated rooms. I would suggest staying in a resort prior to attending any sales pitch as they will show the nice updated rooms but those are not what you will be staying in. This is not what we were expecting from RCI or Club Wyndham and would not recommend this resort for family vacation. As a side note this week is not full of partying spring breakers that may be...
Read moreWe wanted a king bed with balcony, oceanfront views. When I called to confirm the booking I asked for an upper level room because it was my husbands first time here. The lady who answered told me that shouldn’t be a problem. When we arrived the young lady who helped me looked to be in her early 20s and was talking on the phone. We waited and when she acknowledged us, she was not nice. She made no eye contact, no smile, and told us we would be on the first floor. I told her I called and made arrangements to be on a higher floor and she said sorry there’s nothing I can do. I said is there anyone else I can speak to because this was a special anniversary trip. She said let me call someone. I kid you not when I say she called the young man sitting at the other end of the desk. We heard his phone ring. He answered and she said, “they want a different room but I already booked first floor” and he shook his head no and they hung up. She said sorry here’s your key now “please walk over to the right to get your wrist bands”. We were so bummed! I read other reviews so I was aware of the timeshare meeting. I politely listened to him and after 20 mins I told him if he could get our room switched to a higher level I would come to the meeting. Fail. I then told him I really needed to use the bathroom because we had been driving all day so he got upset and completely changed his attitude from upbeat and positive to quiet and rude. He basically tossed the folder packet of time share info and our wrist bands at us and we left. He didn’t even activate the wrist bands because we wouldn’t agree to a meeting! We had to ask other people how to get to our room. I had previously read the whole elevator situation. Let me tell you, it is NOT worth saving a few dollars to stay here simply because of this elevator issue. As we made our way to the room we had to pass this hallway that was very dark and smelled like a dead body. I took pictures to include the area. Imagine going on a trip expecting to have the best vacation and every single time you step out of your room you have to walk through a space that smells so bad you want to vomit. The room I gave 4 stars because there were no surprises. Looks just like the pictures and was clean. As we went to the balcony my heart sank. Our view was of the tiki bar and pool. Literally everyone could see inside our room. It was so disappointing. We could not leave the curtain open! Also, CHECK THE WINDOW LOCKS! We had to screw our bedroom window lock and the balcony lock back in because the screws were literally hanging out. The other bad part about being in room 141 was that you could smell the area where people come back from the beach to wash their feet. Sour, rotten, mildew smell. You couldn’t even stand on the balcony because the smell was so bad. The first night we wanted to have a drink and shoot some pool. It took us 30 mins to find it because no one was there to help and people at the desk tried to avoid you which made us so uncomfortable. My husband asked where the pool table was located and the same girl was so rude and pointed out to the pool area. We walked all the way around the pool until we found the pool table in the garage parking area. There were no sticks. So now we had to go all the way back in and ask for the pool sticks. They were behind her leaned up against the wall. My husband told her that and she said No they are on the table. He said I just came from there and they aren’t. She said check again. We did and they weren’t there. On our way back my husband told her she was rude and there were no sticks and we left. In conclusion, the customer service here is horrible. These employees are not hospitable. I will never stay here again because of the smells, the elevator situation and most of all, the terrible...
