BEWARE! WORST EXPERIENCE IN THE WORLD!!! I BEG YOU NOT TO USE THEM FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!
I took my car in for a oil change and tire rotation. After driving it off the lot, the driver’s side tire flew off the car while going about thirty miles an hour because the lug nuts were either not tightened or not there at all.
I had damage in a few places but I was physically ok. I took the car back to Firestone and contacted their supposed claims department. All of my requests – taking the car back to the dealership to get it fixed, doing a safety inspection, balancing the tire, and/or using OEM parts – were ignored. The only thing I got was a rental car from the claims department, which I did appreciate.
The fight between corporate claims and the store itself after I received the rental car was a nightmare – calls after calls after calls with no answer. Not even emailing worked. I wanted the car listed as a total loss since it was a lease and they would not even acknowledge me.
I not only had none of my requests done, I did not receive a single phone call or email from the claims department FOR TWO MONTHS. That’s two months without my car, doing payments on it.
The store then proceeded to fix my car without my permission and called me multiple times to pick it up. I would not until someone from a third party verified that it was fine. After two months, I couldn’t wait anymore and I went to pick it up with warnings of bringing it to the dealership myself.
When I was driving it to the dealership THE BATTERY DIED. I brought it back to Firestone and THEY PROCEEDED TO CHARGE ME FOR THE BATTERY. 324 dollars! The car is two years old! Brand new! It didn’t have a scratch on it before they touched it.
So I had the honor of paying for an oil change, tire rotation, and battery. While they did not charge me for the repairs after the accident, they did NOT refund me the tire rotation service.
By the way, when I wanted any sort of assurances that they were doing right by me after picking it up the first time before the battery problem, I asked outright if there would be any problems with the car. The guy said he would put his own daughter in it. Go figure. Hope the daughter likes jump starting her car on the side of the highway.
Btw, the pictures attached are of the tire in the grass after it fell off and my car's rotor hitting the ground.
EDIT 09/04/25: After posting this review, the claims department / corporate - not the Parsippany Firestone!!! - refunded me the money for my oil change, tire rotation, and battery. I am extremely appreciative, but also furious that it took a social media review to get any sort of response from them considering the messages and calls I sent...
Read moreAbsolutely awful place with an awful front desk staff. I came in on 7/16 for a Evac and Recharge because I stated I may have a leak. My car had ZERO freon, freon does not just disappear without a leak. My air was blowing hot 2-3 days after I got it fixed. I go back 7/23 and the disgusting front desk man that I dealt with previously stated my new total would be $1,273 and some change. I ask him why it's that expensive and he said, I have a leak in my air condensor and a hose and I need to pay for another Evac and Recharge and I stated that it's crazy to have to pay for that again when I was just there the week prior. He said he would take the Evac and Recharge off of the final total and I asked what the new total was and he said $1,273. Make it make sense. I called Firestone customer service and told them everything that happened. I asked them to have someone call me back to rectify the issue and they proceeded to believe your lying staff member who stated that HE came out and asked ME if I'd like to see if I had leaks and he said I said NO. He never came out and asked me to look if there any leaks, I stated I think I have a leak. I even said whatever extra money the leak was, I would pay if they find one. I have called Firestone customer service and filed another complaint and hopefully someone will call me back to rectify this issue. It's really sad to see shops think they can screw a woman over when I have nothing but mechanics in my life. Had any of my mechanics had the machine to put Freon in my car since I have the 1234YF refrigerant, I would have never gone to Firestone, I wouldn't have even given this business a second thought. Mind you an AC condensor for my car is at max $200, Honda quoted me $70 on the hose and my condensor would be $132. For the price of a condensor and hose BY ITSELF to be $1,273 is mind boggling and makes ZERO sense regardless of your price of labor. Tell me how Honda is saying this a $640 fix INCLUDING labor but Firestone is saying $1,273. I do not know your labor costs but I know a $640 fix including labor should not equal $1,273 at Firestone if he was truthful and took the Evac and Recharge off of the total on 7/23. I will continue calling to figure out how to rectify this issue but I do think everyone should be VERY aware of how Firestone handles business. Unfortunately, this isn't the only...
Read moreHere's what you need to know: if ANYTHING goes wrong at this firestone, you're completely screwed.
If their incompetence damages your car past the point of driveablity, they'll encourage you to contact their claims department and file a claim. Sure! Accidents happen, after all.
The claims specialist assigned to your case will apologize and promise to get everything straightened away. Maybe you'll get a rental car in the meantime! How nice!
Then the claims specialist will ghost you. Maybe you give them a week before you start getting concerned -- then you call them. Leave messages. Then send emails. Then use the online chat to request an update. For weeks, you won't get a response.
If you pass by the store, your car will just be sitting in the parking lot. If you wanted it towed anywhere for repairs, it will NOT happen.
Then you escalate. You get the information for Nick, who is at this time a manager in the claims department. You try calling him for assistance, and he never picks up your phone calls. Never responds to your voicemails.
You give up and go to the Parsippany location in person, in hopes that they'll be able to give you an update--or at least contact the claims department on your behalf. They can't do either, AND they've gone against your explicit wishes and tried to repair your car in-house.
We were told that we couldn't "prove" that we asked them not to attempt any repairs. So I guess I encourage everyone to record their conversations in this firestone, because they WILL lie to your face.
We lasted two months before we gave up and took the car back. It was unsafe to drive. When we took it back to firestone, they CHARGED US for a new battery, which we would not have needed if they hadn't left our car sitting in their lot for two months. Sure. We just wanted to be done with this, which I'm sure is what they were counting on.
We had to lease a new car. Thousands of dollars down the drain because we trusted a tire store to do a tire rotation properly. Amazing.
You're better off going anywhere else.
EDIT TO FIRESTONE : we have already reached out to everyone possible (including your socialcare email) and nobody has been able/willing to actually help. There's nothing left...
