I was invited to my first traditional Indian wedding, and I had already bought a Saree and blouse online before I knew about this amazing boutique. When my Saree arrived just three days before the wedding, I was in a bit of a panic. As a Westerner with very little knowledge about draping a Saree, my attempts to learn online failed miserably. I was desperately searching for someone who could pre-drape and stitch my Saree in under 24 hours when I discovered Kalaaz Indian Ethnic Wear.
I called the owner, Jignasa, who kindly agreed to help me on such short notice. When I arrived, she greeted me warmly, and I instantly felt her positive energy. She had me put on my Saree and blouse to assess what needed to be done. She noticed that the undergarment I was using wasn’t suitable and suggested I needed a long petticoat or leggings. She offered to let me try on a petticoat she carried, just to see the difference, and wow – it made such a big difference! There was no pressure to buy, but the fit and material were perfect, so I decided to purchase it at a great price.
As we continued, Jignasa noticed that my lightweight Saree could be beautifully draped with just a few safety pins and the right technique. Instead of pushing for extra stitching, she was honest and upfront, suggesting a draping lesson instead. At first, I was unsure, but she patiently guided me through the process, letting me practice until I felt confident. She even let me take a video of her demonstration so I could refer back to it.
While I was there, I couldn’t help but admire their stunning collection of Indian wear – so many options, styles, and sizes! I wished I had come here initially to purchase my outfit. If I ever need another outfit in the future, I will definitely return.
Overall, Jignasa was absolutely lovely, and the whole experience was wonderful. Kalaaz Indian Ethnic Wear provides exceptional service and quality. Highly...
Read moreKalaaz was an ABSOLUTE pleasure to purchase from and I HIGHLY recommend coming to this shop, even just to take a look if you don’t necessarily have any events coming up. The ladies are so down to earth and genuine people, you feel good about giving business to them. My family had a wedding to prepare for- we are a blended family and at times when it comes to dressing and getting ready for events, it was difficult for my mom and I because we didn’t know if what we would wear looked correct, or felt nervous and quite honestly nervous about comments from family members 🤣. These ladies welcomed us with open arms and empowered not only my other and I on, but also our friends and family to enjoy the culture and celebrate together. They were such a pleasure for the family and friends we recommended go there as well. Quite honestly, I think the pricing is very fair, and if you have a budget in mind, just let them know and they will gladly work within it. My family and I created such a great relationship with them and I look forward to the day that I come to their shop for my very...
Read moreI was lucky to discover Kalaaz while searching for a last-minute outfit for my cousin's wedding. My family had also checked other boutiques in Jersey and were disappointed with the selection. My biggest concern became deciding between outfits, and I purchased two. Family also ended up making purchases. I found the reviews to be accurate. Jignasa and Maya are amazing and super kind. They were never pushy like in some other boutiques, giving you space to decide what you truly like. They worked with my extremely tight timeline and had alterations done the same day. When the wedding events ran behind schedule, they went above and beyond and dropped the outfits at the nearby banquet hall. There is a large selection of lehengas, sarees, anarkali gowns, accessories, and more in various sizes. I learned they also do custom orders for individuals and bridal parties to create outfits that fit their style and budget. With the ability to try on outfits and have alterations done here and my overall great experience, I would make the drive from Virginia to shop again for my...
