Club Pilates — Attraction in Pasadena

PLEASE READ! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR CLUB PILATES PASADENA (HASTINGS RANCH).

Though I do believe the Pilates technique is amazing this franchise site (Pasadena | Hasting Ranch) has oversold memberships and has poor customer service, which has made it impossible for someone which a flexible schedule (as I do) to attend a class, though I was guaranteed that I would be able to attend a class even when waitlisted. Within less than 30 days of attending Club Pilates, I was only able to attend 2 classes due to every class being filled. In order to attend a class you must schedule weeks in advance (which was not what I was told at sign up). I called about this multiple times and was told that a manager would contact me (never happened).

I also referred (2) friends within the first week of my membership and another friend during week 3-of my membership. I was told I would receive $25 for each referral to be used for either of the following: retail, membership or drop in classes. I chose to use my $50 credit towards membership which would have been towards my coming months membership. I called 4 times to have this completed, even offering to pay early (with credit being applied). I was told the manager (Mak) was the only person who was authorized to take care of this. I even left a (walk up) message at the desk for Mak, Mak NEVER returned any calls nor did she email.

The final straw for me was, when I dropped into the studio to finally have this credit issue resolve. I was told (after the receptionist reviewed the notes stating what I said was accurate), and the receptionist speaking with Mak (via telephone), Mak stated, "this info was given to me in error", and that was not an option. When I asked to speak to Mak (after waiting several weeks) and not having any of my calls returned,; I was told it was her "off day" and she was unable to speak to me.

I immediately returned to my car and reviewed my contract and saw that I was within the timeframe to cancel my membership. I went back into the club and was told that I could email the cancellation notice to the club and that the membership would be canceled that way. I informed Joanna according to the contract the cancellation notice needed to be written which meant it needed to be walked into the club. I proceeded to hand write the cancellation notice at the Club Pilates desk and proceeded with my termination documents.

Though I will continue pilates, I will find a studio that not only values their customers at the sign-up process, but also values customers throughout their membership. With the state of our economy, it should be appreciated when a customer is willing to chose a business over so many. The Pasadena | Hastings Ranch location from the first day I signed up, sent me countless texts, asking me to review their location with photos, but I can't get a return telephone call from your General Manager?

I was one of the earliest members of CP in SPas and Pasadena, so I've got to give love. I'm now a Pilates addict and with my membership I get to go to any studio in LA. After a few months away I came back to see my OG Jonelle who kicked my ass this week in the most wonderful way. She never disappoints. If you can get into any of her classes (which is a challenge unto itself) you're in for a fun and amazing ride. I've got my awesome gals in the Marina, but seeing Jonelle this week felt like coming home. She brings 110% of herself to every single class. Her vibe is infectious, her music rocks, her classes are challenging and her investment in each and every person in that room is incredible. And let me say she knows her craft and never disappoints. A 1.5 flow class followed by center & balance was the perfect way to end a very hard week. I know firsthand that CP has some amazing instructors but seriously, they need to clone her. Thanks...

Clean Freaks: Hygiene is king here. After every class, we’ll wipe down the equipment we’ve used for the next class.
