10 Things You Need to Know Before Staying at La Bellasera Hotel & Suites in Paso Robles Deeply Under Construction As soon as you arrive, it's clear that this hotel is still heavily under construction. You'll see construction workers outside having lunch, and signs of ongoing work everywhere. 2. False Walls and Plastic Covers The false walls covered in plastic make it evident that you're in a construction zone, not a finished hotel. This creates a very unwelcoming first impression. 3. Lack of Amenities The hotel currently lacks basic amenities. There’s no place for lobby users to use the restroom, and accessing the pool requires walking around the entire property outdoors. 4. Dust and Cleanliness Issues Construction dust is a significant issue. The floors are covered in gypsum dust, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel suffers as a result. 5. Unfinished Paint and Fixtures The wall switches and other fixtures still show signs of needing paint and other finishing touches. This contributes to the feeling that the hotel is incomplete. 6. Poor Plumbing Assembly The plumbing seems poorly assembled, with the toilet making noises that suggest it might not withstand use without leaking. 7. Views of Construction Equipment The views from the hotel are dominated by construction equipment, detracting from the overall aesthetic and relaxation factor. 8.Limited Amenities There are few amenities available. The incomplete bar and nonexistent social spaces are significant drawbacks for a hotel charging premium prices. 9.Premium Prices Without Transparency Despite the construction, the hotel charges premium prices of over $300 per night. This feels like a bait-and-switch situation, as the reality does not meet the expectations set by the hotel’s marketing. 10. Limited Flexibility for Cancellations Given the lack of transparency, the hotel should offer more flexibility for cancellations. This is especially important for guests coming to celebrate special occasions. If you made it to the end the intent is to convey a lack of transparency and a lack of amenities for the cost .

Update 2025: It is no longer La Bellasera but now Bellasera A Taperstry Hotel by Hilton. Still beautiful and different from a lot of hotels in the area but if you are coming here with Tuscan style memories and romantic rooms with the jetted tubs for two, you will be mistaken. Their restaurant Enoteca is still great as well as the bar. This is my all time favorite place to stay. Whether it's a romantic weekend getaway of just relaxing and enjoying each other's company in their amazing rooms and jacuzzi tubs or one where we venture out to wine taste and see Paso it's always spot on. The hotel itself is so beautiful and inviting. Just walking into the lobby makes one feel special. The service is above and beyond in kindness and consideration for your stay to be wonderful. They have a great restaurant and bar where the food and drinks keep us coming back. To rooms are beautiful, spacious and well taken care of. I love the lighting under the bathroom vanity as it acts as a night light so you don't stub a toe in the dark. The robes are a big plus and very comfy. The size of the rooms alone are a treat making it feel more like home and not a cramped hotel stay. That is key. The design doesn't say "lets pack in as many rooms as we can in the hotel to make as much money possible" but more of, "let's let the guest have some room to breathe." I appreciate the ladder, especially with how hectic the world has become. As I write this I find myself wanting to go back already. This place is an absolute treat!

So how do I start… well I booked this trip on capital one through there booking app. I requested a 350$ dollar deluxe room with a fireplace and whirlpool. Upon arrival I was told that my reservation was nonexistent. When contacting my booking agent they said sorry for the inconvenience. 2 hours I waited to finally be compensated and put in a room only after my booking agent waived all fees and costs to this trip. Not once did the staff at Bella sera try to help. In fact they were okay with me contact but my booking agent to figure out what happened luckily we arrived early to our hotel to figure out what happened and get situation fixed. The staff here will not help you. Capital one will not accommodate you even if you booked through them. This town leaves my highly suspicious. I find it hard to believe the whole hotel was sold out. Especially after going back and forth and still not finding a room. This place is shady please steer clear maybe go to allegretto or another family friendly hotel. This place is not it. They blamed their troubles on the renovations happening at the time like that even would even be affected by the internet. They are not competent. The staff is delusional. I am pretty sure this place hires people with low iq on purpose. Please for the sake of god stay away from this place !

We reserved our room months prior to our arrival. It was a couple weekend for us, we planned to attend the Castoro Whalerock event. Upon our arrival at almost 1030-11 pm, my husband asked what time does the bar close because it wasn't open. He was told it was closed for renovations until October! We were so tired we just didn't say a word. At 230 am I was awaken by a loud noise, I thought it was the refrigerator but it wasn't & I could not sleep! My husband was so upset & so was I, we both were so tired. I called the desk and complained and Kevin was great, he said a maintenance guy would be looking at it at 10 am etc. and I said "how do I sleep until then, can you move us?" Kevin said the hotel was booked & that he was sorry. He noted my complaint, but not before me telling him I was very upset about this room noise and that we came for a getaway and that the bar was closed. He said he understood and apologized about the bar AND RESTAURANT being closed! I had no idea both the bar and restaurant was closed so now I'm flipped out we paid for a room at a hotel with no ammenities!! I told Kevin I was checking out & was super upset nobody called us prior to our arrival to say their hotel wouldn't have a bar nor a restaurant! We could've stayed elsewhere in Paso if we knew and all of the area hotels were already booked up!! We arrived at the desk in the morning & spoke to Aiden. Aiden & I had spoke in the morning prior to our arrival at 830 & again at 930, as I was checking to see if we could check in early before we went to the Whalerock. Aiden said the hotel was booked & most people still hadn't checked out but asked if he should call me if my room becomes available? I told him yes please, and never heard from him. I'm mentioning all if this because my opinion of desk relations was poor. Aiden did reimburse us for most of the 2 day charges however he needed the Manager's approval for the last $90 & said he would call me as aoon as he was given the approval. I asked for a folio showing our credits and it really wasn't clear to us that our 2 day stay was credited properly. I trusted Aiden that he would call me on Sunday to tell me my credits were all applied because he said he would. I received no phone call. On Monday i left our hotel we found to stay in & drove to La Bellasera to see if my final credit was approved. As I enter the hotel, I see Aiden at the desk, and I said "do you remember me I never received a call from you?" He then said, oh I did call it probably didn't go through? I asked what time did you try and call me & he said 2:30. I'm pretty technologically savey so I pulled my Android out and said, look my missed calls show no call from the hotel! Aiden is quiet, but assures me he zero'd out my folio and I asked for a copy. The personal time I spent with my ruined accomodations, the disappointment, the lack of desk service (except from Kevin) our weekend wasn't as we imagined it to be for us, and I blame La Bellasera for ruining it for us. I think not calling ME to advise me that the owner decided to just unexpectedly renovate the bar & restaurant BUT STILL TAKE MY MONEY for our planned reservation, was purely intentional to do to guests, in order to take their money and not tell them until...

My two friends and I had an unpleasant stay at this hotel in the month of July 2018. We had gone here to relax, and it turned out to be anything but. This place charges exorbitant rates. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Here are the issues we experienced:

The room advertised as suites are nothing like shown on their website. They are merely small rooms, poorly maintained, with a horrible smell when you enter. The carpets are not cleaned of stains. The spray in the room had my friend coughing through the night. Calling the front desk was of no help. They had no rooms available and had no recourse to make the room free of the nauseating spray. The extra bed they brought in for the third person in the room, was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. The sofa bed was back-breaking. Once this bed was put in, there was absolutely no space in the room. The room did not reflect a suite whatsoever. The lighting in the room was almost nil. It remained dark despite turning all the lights on. Two of the lamps were not working. When we asked the help, they said that these "lamps have not been working." Not sure if the hotel was trying to save on its energy bills. The beds seem to have some mites or something that left us itching. I developed a rash from the mite-bites. It took a week, after my return to slowly get rid of it. The hotel room had food and drink and we were charged $50 (!) in advance on the credit card for this! I was told that this would be given back only after our stay and their checking in case we've chosen to eat and drink the items. This is something no other hotel does, with its customers. This isn't decent customer service. Who charges for something one won't use, in advance?? The hotel bill reflected this $50 even upon our leaving AND stating that we did not touch the snack and drink in the room. The bathroom had less hand towels. We'd indicated that 3 of us would stay in the room. I asked for non-dairy items at breakfast. I was told that they "just threw away" all non-dairy items (milk etc.) because there isn't a demand for it. There were no options for a person who could not consume dairy products, except plain oatmeal.

For a stay that was meant to be relaxing at a costly price, this place turned out to be horrible. It isn't worth its extremely costly rates.

I strongly recommend that this hotel be struck off Expedia's contract.

Upon calling to complain via Expedia, the staff indicated they're sorry for our stay, and that there is no recourse for us. They lacked remorse and showed no accountability of taking care of the issues I had...

The staff upfront was extremely sweet and charismatic. They made us feel welcome and joked with us the whole time. The entire hotel smells wonderful as well. My husband and I stayed one night in a king suite with a jacuzzi tub. Upon arrival, we were very pleased with the room. The shower and tub were beautiful and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. However, the shower drain was clogged and did not drain. It’s very disconcerting to be stepping in a puddle while showering, not knowing what you may be stepping in. Thankfully we were only there one night so that didn’t become and issue. We used the bath, but I did notice several short, shiny, curly black hairs that were most definitely not ours. Also, the scale provided in the bathroom was dead. These are things that the cleaning crew should handle or, at the very least, report (such as the shower drain). The fact they haven’t been fixed makes me believe they don’t clean properly to have even detected these issues, or they just don’t care about customers. Unfortunately it seems the cleaning and upkeep is not up to par with the standards of a 4-star hotel. We did expect more from the room. And finally, though the front desk was a pleasure, when we were seated at the bar, we felt we were more of a nuisance than paying customers. We were seated immediately after another couple who seemed older, giddy and maybe on an early date. My husband and I are in our early/mid 20s and look very young. The other couple was greeted, we were not. They and the other bar guests were given chilled ice water. We were given regular, non-iced water. Their order was taken enthusiastically and quickly. We were finally acknowledged when we were asked for our orders. We ordered our cocktails (delicious) and were only treated enthusiastically and kindly when we asked for the check and said goodnight. We remained quiet and behaved for the 30minutes we were in the restaurant. We were quieter than the couple beside us, though they weren’t obnoxious either. We were dressed well and arrived hours before closing. I am not sure if we were treated differently because we appear younger, but a simple ID check could’ve rectified the situation...
