I'm a Los Angeles Nutritionist for 25 years so I love the fact that they have gluten free crust and cater to special requests. The Paso Robles store is a mess. We were up for a big family gathering staying in a hotel near this location. After an exhausting day my daughter ordered from the app using my card and a few hours later we got an ice cold pizza with nothing that we ordered on them and everything we did not order. My pizza tasted like someone dumped a jar of salt on it and it had gluten. It had meat that I don't eat and the order was completely wrong as well. It could have been someone else's order. It was a Saturday night around 8:30 to 9 so I'm sure they are busy but come on. We had to leave to go to another place to get food and since we already had to drive I offered to bring back the bad pizzas to get my card credited of about $43 not including the delivery service and tip for two personal pizzas. I was told I'd get a credit later that week by the manager and it's now June 3rd and no refund. I just took time from work to call and was told the manager is "in the bathroom" and "I don't know what to do" call back. They don't always answer the phone there. The recording says "our restaurants are often busy" go to Blaze.com. Well they won't be busy if you keep losing people like me to bad service and inedible pizzas. I was sent to two other phone numbers and still no luck. I guess neither Paso or SLO locations have a manager. 2 out of 5 of the kids I spoke to were polite. One female was rude and said he was in the bathroom to call back in 4 minutes. I did and was told there was no manager. Mistakes happen but make it right. Also if you are CELIAC or have anaphylactic allergies this is not worth taking a chance. It can mean life or death for some of my patients. My advice is avoid this Blaze if you have food allergies or want to edible food, and if they get it wrong go there yourself to check the order and pay. I will not prepay at Blaze again. I'm not sure if I will be going to Blaze anymore in LA. It left a salty taste in my mouth. I will email them and see if they credit me and...
Read moreIf I could give this 4 1/2 stars I would. Our first visit and we were very pleased. The selection of food was good and the prices were fair for what you got. My wife LOVES a thin crispy crust and Blaze delivers that well. Since it was our first time we were a bit unfamiliar with the ordering process where you work your way down the line and get to configure everything about your pizza, including customizing one of their signature pizzas. The ingredients were fresh and tasty and generously portioned. After our visit I installed the android app to take advantage of a BOGO offer on the sales receipt. When I tried to redeem the offer I got an "invalid code" message (boo). I contacted support via email from the app and got a response within the hour which solved the issue (yay). I really appreciated the prompt response and quick service. I especially like the app and the website. We have been being more scrupulous about our food and calories over the last year which means being careful about calories and macros. The app allows you to build the pizza the way you want and gives you calories for EVERY option so you can fine tune for whatever your needs. The website actually creates a nutrition breakdown label so you can track fats, carbs, and proteins. Really nice for our purposes. The app also allows you to configure and order your pizza which gets assembled and cooked once you check in at the restaurant, since it only takes about 5 minutes to cook you get a fresh hot pie without standing in line (yay). The app also holds any coupons for offers, like a BOGO or free drinks, as well as acting like a virtual punch card. If you purchase 10 pies through the app you get one free (yay). Lots of thoughtful touches like a stack of half pizza boxes available for leftovers so you don't have to go up and ask. They bus and clean the tables so you don't have to and clean restrooms. The only down side was the somewhat noisy atmosphere. The open ceilings and walls make it a bit loud but not a deal breaker. So that's one boo and three yays. Easy 4 (and a half)...
Read moreThis FAIR (at best) review is at the expense of this establishment being under-staffed, unprepared and unorganized for a school fundraiser. I placed our order for 5:30 curbside pick-up in the middle of the day BEFORE this event... I followed the "push 9" prompt for curbside pick-up at 5:30pm... nobody picked up... I walked inside & it was not busy (yet) but it was complete chaos in the food prep area. Walk-ins were getting their orders made ahead of online orders. A family we wound up sitting with ordered 3 pizzas as walk-ins that were made in 40 minutes. It took staff 45 minutes to find our online order (I had to approach the service counter 4 times to check status and it was not until the 4th check-in that they were able to find our online order, placed the day before for pick-up. At 6:45pm, after dining-in on our school friend's order... we walked out with our "5:30pm curbside pick-up pizza." Shame on ownership/management for not better preparing staff. Why were online orders not pre-made HOURS before the fundraiser rush and popped in the oven as supporters arrived? (A 10-15 min wait would have been excusable, "for the cause"). Why were walk-in orders being made as a priority over the stack of "beat the crowd" online orders? The only accomplishment here was supporting our school. Double the staff, be prepared and get organized.... Order tickets looked like "100 Card Pick Up" on the counter. It was a joke. I thanked staff for "Busting their hind ends" on our way out. To reiterate, this is a POOR Review on ownership/management, not customer service. All employees were in a dead sweat and (rightfully) flustered and most patrons were...
