I liked this smaller-sized vineyard & winery. The food was definitely the star for me. My Vina Robles Burger was food orgasm-good, & this stems from their use of quality ingredients. The burger patty was so thick & flavorful. It was surrounded by huge Portobello mushroom halves, VR Cab caramelized onions, arugula & roasted garlic aioli, all fitted between two fresh soft Brioche buns. Fries accompanied my burger on the plate, & came out hot & crisp.
My wife ordered the French Onion Soup, which arrived in a crock, with melted cheese covering the top & oozing down the sides. She loved it, as did I, after sampling a spoonful. This decadently rich gourmet-caliber soup, gets its flavor from slow-simmered bone broth, & five different types of onions.
The crab cakes, while not quite up to par, with some of the best crab cakes I've tasted, from Maryland, were still crisp, fairly decent-sized, & the sauce which topped them, added to the overall enjoyment of this appetizer.
My favorite wine here was the 2018 Creston Valley Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, which hit all the right flavor notes for me.
This is an up and coming winery, with really good food & wine, that's gaining in popularity & interest. I was disappointed in the level of service, which if I'm honest, was a bit on the slow side. I also wasn't overly enthralled with the aesthetics of the vineyard, or the front grounds. It really bummed me out that Vina Robles doesn't allow their guests to dine outside, on their outdoor patio, during the colder winter months. We came here for the first time, on 1/21/23. It was a beautiful, sunny day, & I really longed to be outside, to enjoy it, as I'm an outdoors-type person.
*After I first wrote this review, I've since taken a look at all the Google Maps photos of this venue. It looks like I missed out on the prettiest area of the grounds, on-site, the back patio. I look forward to visiting again, during the warmer months, so I can relax out there, sipping my glass of 2018 Creston Valley Vineyard Cabernet, & relishing some of Vina...
Read moreUnfortunately we had a poor experience. We came up from L.A. for a 4 day weekend experience in Cambria ,VRBO at a beautiful beach side home to try the local vineyards and drive to Big Sur. My sister inlaw had reservations for 2:30 pm on a Friday at the Vinyard for wine tasting and lunch. We got there on time and dressed for the occasion but the first male server had a demeanor like what are you doing here. When we got our server she said we can do the wine tasting but food was done for the day. It wasn't till she verified our 2:30pm reservation that she allowed us to order, but even then she kept rushing us and explaining that the kitchen was closing at 3pm. We completed the order but as soon as she put the 1st water glass down my sister inlaw asked to add a hummus appetizer to the meal, and the server said she could not. It was not even 3 pm yet. The server must have been in the middle because she kept saying she had to ask the kitchen. At that point we just canceled the lunch order. We didn't want to feel rushed. We planed our day around relaxing and enjoying fine wine and a meal but it didn't work out that way. My wife and sister inlaw and two niece's are all beautiful and classy Hispanic women. I don't know if this place is "exclusive "🤔 but when " I " , a white male walked up to the front desk to join my party, the gentleman at the front desk was very nice to me. I wish I new what the problem was, because we planned our whole day...
Read moreCongratulations on a awesome venue You killed it on having a large location to host several thousand people for your wide variety of entertainment. Tonight we paid and extra premium for your “vip” area for a concert we came from out of town to enjoy. The area you consider “vip” has no view of the stage, and basically is just a fast pass for a bar and bathroom. 99% of the seats in the area have no view of the stage and are a waste of money. After that, your event priced food is a joke. I completely understand the premium that can be charged at large venues, but in 2024 the market has actually caught up to the fact that if you charge $15 for a basket of fries you better knock them out of the park. You, unfortunately, have completely missed that point. Your food offerings are below mediocrity and you need to seriously reconsider whoever manages your food service. At this point, all I can recommend is that everyone that has an artist who is playing at this menu, please buy tickets but just plan on the fact that you are going to need to stop and have a quality meal before you get here. Please do better as a venue, you’re so close to killing it in this area, but somebody in the finance department is shorting you horrendously when it comes to your food offerings. Spend $2 on the quality of your products and charge $3 more you will...
