Good wines, needs more attention on customer service.
Came here on Memorial Day for an ad-hoc wine tasting after stopping for beer nearby. There were 3 or 4 other parties already in the place, not crowded at all because this place is literally giant. We were told to sit anywhere, so we sat near the middle so we could do a relatively quick tasting (not there for food) and go onto the next destination.
Only problem, they only bothered to have one employee... on a weekend. A holiday weekend. Keep in mind the tasting room is huge and has two bars, three seating areas, plus an upstairs VIP lounge, plus food. Imagine entrusting all of this responsibility to one person, and pray that all your guests managed to be happy? Somehow she did a pretty great job but we couldn't believe it and felt bad for her the whole time. It also slowed down our experience slightly, even though she was constantly running from station to station.
Bought two bottles of Anonymity (Torrontes) because it's tasty and easily worth the price as a hard to find varietal in California. The red wines were also good but the white really struck us as something nice.
Tipped $10 for the excellent service, and because we felt bad. I can't pretend to understand owners of a business like this. Are you allergic to making money after investing all this time and effort into physically building out your establishment? I can only imagine how many parties get turned off and leave, or end up spending less time or money there, if there is not enough help to run the place. I can't imagine joining their wine club or VIP either and having to deal with lack of...
Read moreI am a member of several clubs in Paso Robles and this one is by far the worst with regard to customer service. I signed up some friends through their referral program where they promise to give you a $100 gift card with each referral after your referral gets at least three shipments. It had been over a year since I signed them up so I decided to look into where my gift card was back in the beginning of May. I emailed their customer support team and got ghosted initially. This should have been my first red flag. I finally got a reply from Matt Dolman two weeks later stating that one of my referrals indeed had their 3rd shipment sent back in February and “they would send out a gift card that week..” Nearly two months later and still no gift card or replies to my follow up emails. I have been a loyal customer for nearly three years however this company’s lies and deceit have been the final straw. I finally cancelled my wine club membership because I couldn’t deal with their abhorrent customer service.

Read moreI arrived at Broken Earth excited to try their wines and especially the pizza! However, I arrived at 5:15pm and the wine concierge said that we were too late to order any food and that we would have to rush our tasting if we even wanted one. Now on their website and the tasting room does not close until 6pm and advertises having food until 6pm…just to let you know. We did not appreciate the “rush” we received from the staff and although we did not try their wines, solely because we were told a tasting takes longer than 40 minutes, we did not stay and decided to go down the street and enjoy wonderful pizza and wine at San Antonio Winery which was a great experience and was able to accommodate us arriving past 5pm when the location closed at 6pm. I hated the fact that Broken Earth was not loyal to their closing time. If you go there, just keep in mind that according to the staff… they actually...
