Sawmill Theatres — Attraction in Payson

Good theater, I am glad that they try to get the newest movies when they come out. Sometimes there is a movie I have wanted to see in the past and this theater does not have it, so I have to go to the valley to see it. I can imagine it is hard to accommodate the older crowd and a younger crowd at the same time, with a smaller theatre. Suggestions I have would be to have a few earlier show times, maybe even having a discount for the first showings of the day. I feel there could be a good crowd of people that would come for an earlier show time. I also wish there was a bigger selection of concessions, maybe some hot dogs or pretzels or nachos. Those popcorn seasoning and some jelopenios would be awesome too! Just some suggestions I hope they take into account. I am here almost every weekend. It is our favorite date night place to go to! Never a bad experience except when the person behind you has stinky feet. I tend to pick the seat that has those people...

Even though I kind of like this place, it tends to be understaffed when purchasing snacks, and people might have to wait 15-20 minutes if they are busy in line through a movie starting due to only one register, when there used to be two. Also, while I was told movies generally show for a month, recently a movie showed for two weeks only. Even smaller theaters give movies a chance to see if audiences want to see them. I am disappointed that I was not able to see a new film because they took it out. This is a reason I don’t go there as often because some of the less interesting movies are kept there a long time, while interesting movies sometimes are kept there briefly. I understand higher grossing movies staying there; but at least keep movies in the theater. Don’t take them out when they just came out. Sometimes people want to see them . Really love this place! In the smaller city in which we live, we are lucky to have a theater which gives us 3D and Dolby and technology that, though not cutting edge, is definitely better than our population can ask for. The staff is friendly, helpful, and it's great to see familiar faces still working there after the pandemic made it hard for these places to survive.
