The first thing the person tells us is that they will control whether or not you get a hint or not. If this is the case, I feel like it should be clearly stated on your website. We have done over 100 escape rooms and not one has ever told us they decide when/if you get a hint. Typically, if you get out in 3 or less hints and whatever time, you go on a leaderboard. I feel like if we controlled our hints, this would have gone much smoother and been a good experience for us. We wasted a good 20 minutes out of the game stating we really did need a hint, only to be ignored. If we had that 20 minutes of time back, we would have gotten out with plenty of time to spare as we only needed about 10 seconds longer and would have gotten out. They had all the rooms dark so you needed a flashlight but only provided one flashlight for 4 people. We were told some things get used more than once, but it was really only 2 things used twice so we wasted more time trying to reuse things that didn't need to be reused. One of the hints was so light that even with the flashlight you could barely see it. All of these things combined along with the ignored requests for a hint made it almost impossible to get out of the "easiest" room they have. I think a lot of these escape rooms forget that these are supposed to be challenging but fun. Seems like with many of them, they are intentionally trying to make it so difficult that you have to come back twice to get out of the room. ...
Read moreHad a great time at this escape room location. The hubby and I had been to the one in destin and gulf breeze and we both agreed that this one on palafox has been the best so far in terms of aesthetics and the way the game was played out. This place is easy to locate, metered or street parking. The interior is nice and spacious. We did the Secret Agent room with a 40% success rate and our team beat it. The secret agent room was spacious and had a lot of twists to it. One clue was very difficult to see and find so hopefully they will change that around. Otherwise the clues pretty much flowed together, you didn't have to be a math or science genius to figure things out. Most places have a way to request for a clue, like a walkie talkie or something, this place didn't (I think they should look into getting this feature). They would just clue you if u wasted too much time on a certain task. They had a large flat screen tv in the room that counted down the time remaining. Afterwards we took pics of our success. Great place, I can't wait to try the other rooms. I glad the time the place is open is getting earlier for those of us who have babysitting time...
Read moreWhile I enjoyed the escape Adventure very much, this place is disturbingly not wheelchair accessible. They did have a lift that would go up and down the stairs, but it would only carry a person and leave the wheelchair at the bottom of the stairs. However, this a lift mechanism was covered and I'm not even sure that it was working. Upon arrival, we were not greeted or instructed on what to do. We did figure out that we needed to sign waivers of consent on our own. When we were finally greeted, the person who greeted us tried to tell me I had not already paid for our Escape Adventure. When I insisted that I had already paid he decided to double check and found that we had. However it was not until after I had been digging through my phone for several minutes looking for my receipt that he agreed to go check his records again. I honestly believe that he would have had me pay twice had he not realized that I was going to find the receipt eventually. However, the escape room itself was clean and enjoyable and challenging. Everyone in my party had a great time and they even took a picture of us with our own cell phone. However you cannot bring any cameras into the...
