I've never been as angry over a dining experience as I am right now.
I went here tonight and ordered a Cuban sandwich. I specifically ordered it gluten free as I have Celiac disease. When it was brought out, I could see it didn't look like their gf bread (I've eaten here before so I know what it looks like). I asked the bartender repeatedly if it was gluten free, and she assured me it was. It should've been a red flag that it didn't look like it should've and she didn't go to the kitchen to confirm, but I started eating it anyway. Lesson learned: trust your instincts. Got through about half, and I could tell it wasn't gluten free. I asked the bartender again, and again she assured me it was gf. There happened to be a mrmber of the kitchen staff getting off shift sitting at the bar, and he cut in to say that no, it absolutely wasnt gluten free, confirming my fears. As someone with Celiac, I knew how this would turn out and I'd be really sick. I tried to explain this to the bartender, but she really couldn't care less and offered to box up my leftovers. Lol, sure, box up the literal poison on my plate. It would've taken her 30 seconds to go to the kitchen and confirm when I originally asked. Instead, I'm at home less than 30 minuted later already crying from the stomach pain. The staff here definitely don't take allergies/medical issues seriously. I'll never...
Read moreWent to The Wine Bar on Saturday 5/22 around 2pm with some coworkers for the first time in over a year because of the pandemic and had an awful experience. Our waitress was super sweet and kind, but an older gentleman with gray hair in a brown shirt who was seating people guaranteed I will not be back any time soon. On the way to the restroom I saw an old friend and stopped quickly to hug and say hi and was about to continue to the restroom when my friend pointed behind me and said "I think that man wants you to move." He gestured gruffly for me to move to the walkway without saying anything and then seats a couple at a table near me. The woman he was seating looked startled and apologized for him being rude because there was plenty of room for everyone and I wasn't blocking their table at all. Went to the restroom, encountered him again on the way back to my table and mentioned I thought he'd been rude and that what he did was unnecessary and he asked me if I was leaving soon and I said yes, and he said GOOD! Waitress came by to apologize for him and said he's known for being grumpy. This was more than grumpy. I understand there's staffing issues all over the place and workers are stressed but it's unacceptable that two women had to apologize for a rude old...
Read moreMy husband and I have come here several times and each experience is different. The girl bartender on the inside was AMAZING. she was knowledgeable, pleasant and had a great attitude. Our dining experience with her was great, wish I got her name so I could name drop. Our food with her was awesome, she got us everything we needed even though we could clearly see she was very busy.
We came in yesterday to sit outside on the back patio, which is a really cool bar setup. The bartender, who we've had before, seemed rather annoyed to be there. Someone even joked with him saying "is it time for a vacation". We ordered 2 French onion soups which were the absolute worst thing I've ever eaten, ended up making my husband finish it. It tasted like canned soup that was heated up in a microwave then some threw a piece of bread on it and a piece of Swiss cheese that wasn't even melted. I wish I could have gotten a picture. When I was talking with the bartender, no matter how much I said please and thank you he never responded. Like he didnt hear me or just didn't care to be pleasant.
Regardless, they have an awesome wine list and a great selection of half off...
