Always a fun place to stroll through! This market is not the flea market, so you won't find cheap Chinese goods here (except for some of the crystal shops that slip in a few Temu rocks). Most things are truly homemade.
There are several food vendors selling things like empanadas, BBQ, lumpias, and some Mediterranean wraps. Don't leave without grabbing a homemade giant cookie for dessert.
Get there early, as the good stuff tends to sell out fast. Around noon, you'll see people clinging to their loaf of bread like they just won the lotteryāhomemade artisanal breads usually disappear quickly.
Did I mention gourmet mushrooms yet? The Lost Boys have been a local hit! Iāve bought a few grow kits and harvested a lot of mushrooms. I especially like to visit around Christmas timeāthese kits make really fun gifts and are definitely a hit for the whole family!
I love the lavender lemonade sold by Dr. Nettles, and I usually buy a weekās worth when I get the chance. On a hot day, I promise you, it's a lifesaver to have that cold lemonade in hand as you stroll the market!
Depending on your pace, you can spend a few hours here. I like to stop midway through, cross the street, and grab a coffee at the REX.
I usually plan for about two hours when I go, but that includes a few minutes of sitting on a bench, sipping coffee, and people- (and pet-) watching. There are lots of dogs out and about, and for the most part, theyāre well-behavedāthough donāt be surprised if you get a few leg sniffs while you shop. Iāve seen other pets tagging along too. Last week, I spotted some sugar gliders and a beautiful gray bunny, all enjoying their day out with the family.
Itās definitely a fun and quick little...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA must do of Pensacola, whether visiting short or long term. Don't be fooled though, calling it a Farmer's Market is deceiving (if you're looking for a large produce selection go to the T&W Flea Market!). Though there are a lot of fresh egg vendors and one or two produce stalls.
This is an artisan vendors market. You will find all types of unique handmade goods: jewelry, cosmetics, art, crafts, and cosmetics.
A truly wonderful way to spend a Saturday and get a condensed sampling of local artisans.
Some of my favorites are Delia Stone (jewelry); I KEPT going back each week for more! Lovely stones in interesting metal settings and priced fairly.
Ladyloved cosmetics; organic beauty serums and elixirs. When you see the ageless face of the beautiful woman who crafts them, you know they work!
Go and see these stalls and find your own...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is such a cute local event to support small food producers, farmers, beekeepers, craftspeople, and artists. Great food, from handmade tamales to fresh bread to flavored popcorn to local coffee to Vietnamese food to a Chinese baker, and more. Don't miss the Bingos! Artisans include painters, photographers, jewelry makers, ceramacists, soap makers, wood carvers, fabric artists, and so much more. Take a look at the handmade birdhouses and the items made from the graffiti bridge! The market spans several blocks but there's a free trolley that loops constantly so you can catch a ride to one end or the other, with a super cheerful and friendly driver who knows all the local history and has great recommendations. If you're in town on a Saturday, the Pfox is a don't-miss. But in the summer, dress very light and...
