This tour is a part of list given when you pay $10 to take tours in downtown Pensacola. The church is beautiful inside and out. The original building was built in 1832. It seems all the rectors died in short period of time. Will attach notes from your: Built 1832 reverend sunders first rector died of yellow fever 4 years later Rev Peak built Christ church school house. Died 3-4 years of tuberculosis Rev Scott died old. Left during civil war. Rev Flowers took his plane and died within 10 weeks yellow fever Church damaged during civil war started major renovations in 1879. Added wooden arches, extended church back 20 feet. 1903 most congregation lived in North Hills. Church abandoned till 1936 (1 decade) Lady came and fixed windows gave church to city. 1936 public library 1936. History museum. Deed given back to church. 500k historic landmark. A lot of weddings. Symphony and chorus. No longer a congregation. 1st 3 rectors are buried under floor boards. The graves are the only ones here. 2 out of 3 were found to be tampered by archeologist. If you enjoy historical churches I highly recommend visiting!

You have to take a tour to go inside but it is so worth it . Hannah our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about everything that she showed us and answered all of the questions with great detail about every building that we went into. We all had so much fun on this tour. That we may come and do it again next year. She made history fun. She is going to make a great teacher one day. ❤️

Beautiful Church, the preservation of original architecture is awesome. We attended a family members wedding here in April. I was passing by last night after dinner and could not pass up the opportunity. I took this stunning photo of its “awesome glow” of significance and purpose. I just wanted to help it share it’s wonderful beauty.

The staff members at UWF Historic Trust were very easy to work with for my daughter’s wedding. But, I would strongly caution anyone against having a wedding here for two reasons. The first is that there may be some type of festival going on at Seville Square where they are blasting music. In our case, the festival was playing “Highway to Hell” when it was time for my daughter to come down the aisle. The wedding coordinator could not hear the piano in the church to send her down the aisle. Also, a wedding with more than 2-3 attendants is going to feel the lack of air conditioned space on the day of the wedding. There’s really no other place for the wedding party to wait until the time of the wedding other than the small bride’s room. The church is a chunk of money to rent and there are these and many other factors completely out of...

Attended a family wedding at this venue, the church is absolutely beautiful but the lady that works there was very rude to me. She approached me with a very rude tone and accused my 1-year-old daughter of drawing on the Pew with markers saying she needed to see what marker that was because she was going to report the damage. My daughter did NOT have a marker and the Pew she was talking about was NOT where I was sitting with my daughter. After talking to the bridal party I realized I was not the only person that she was rude to. I would not recommend this venue because even though it is the most beautiful place to get married the lady there will ruin your wedding because of how rude she is to the guests...
