This is our first season with this cheer organization and will be our last! They do not seem to care about their non-travel team. The routine was learned late! The dance wasn't learned until 8 days prior to the first competition. The choreography was taught to the coach (cheerleader on higher team) and then taught to the cheerleaders. I've never seen this process done. Usually, there are a couple days and a choreographer comes in and teaches the entire routine. Afterwards, the remaining practices are utilized to perfect the routine and clean it up. Also, when my daughter was placed on a team I was told that it was a level one team . When it was time for the first competition, was when I was told it was a Novice/Prep team. My list can continue with what all has gone wrong with this season. We have already committed to the season, but we will definitely not be back. They really should put more energy into their non-travel teams as they do their travel. Also, they have another location, in the East Valley, and they put their teams against each other. I do not understand as to why they do this, but I don’t think...
Read moreI’m sorry to have to leave this review, but parents and athletes deserve to be forewarned. Our varsity cheer team is mandated to also practice at Top Gun once a week. Drew, the owner of Top Gun, yelled at our team’s absolutely gorgeous, 5’10” female backspot, “YOU LOOK LIKE A 6’9” HUMPTY DUMPTY! WHY DO YOU RUN LIKE THAT?! STOP DOING THAT!!”
I don’t think I have to tell anyone why this is inappropriate, unprofessional, and blatant bullying. It’s additionally disgusting that an adult in a position of authority said this to a 17-year-old girl. It’s hard enough being a teenage female in a sport that encourages body dysmorphia, disordered eating, and a host of psychiatric fallout.
I’d be happy to remove this review, contingent upon Drew extending a sincere, personal, and face-to-face apology to this athlete.
But if he behaved this way without even batting an eyelash, even acting like he was justified in doing so, he’ll do it to your children, too.
Do better, Drew. Not only does your business depend upon it, but OUR...
Read moreI’m incredibly disappointed with the experience my family had at Top Gun Cheer. During a recent practice, several children were intentionally embarrassed for simply needing to use the restroom. As a parent, it is deeply concerning to see young children treated this way—especially in an environment that is supposed to be encouraging and supportive.
Furthermore, the owner demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism when addressing concerns. Rather than showing respect or empathy, they were dismissive and disrespectful towards customers. It's unfortunate when leadership fails to foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere, and this experience has left me questioning the values upheld by this company.
I would not recommend Top Gun Cheer to anyone who expects a supportive, respectful environment for their children. Professionalism and basic decency are crucial in any business, and sadly, this company missed the...
