Let me start with saying that I am not usually a person to rate businesses, and typically give places more than one chance because everyone has bad days. Having said that. I will not being going back to this place because the service has made me feel terrible on not one, but TWO occasions. 4 weeks ago I called in to get an appointment for a pedicure with a French tip. They don't usually take walk ins which is totally understandable. Upon entry and getting matched with a tech, I was asked again what I want, a French predicure. To which she's asks do you want gel, and I reply no. And she says are you sure it's only 5 dollars more, and I say no I don't want gel on my feet please. So she proceeds to give me the pedicure (and file my one nail into a crazy angle to which I questioned and asked could it be evened out, which I don't think she was happy with). When the time comes for polish she says , we only do French with gel. When I ask why wasn't I told this when there were clearly better times for me know this. She said it's been that way for years. So instead I got a regular pedicure with regular polish. And at this point I was getting a lot of attitude from the tech because I no longer wanted the French even though she told me gel is better many, many times. After she finished my nails she put me under a fan at one of the nail stations. She asked me to pay. She didn't mention a time limit to let my feet cure nor said bye but left right after that. No other tech checked on me or talked to me after that encounter. So I left and wind up ruining my two pinky toes, but let it go. I came in today, a month later, to get a fresh pedicure for an upcoming wedding. I was hoping the last encounter was just a fluke as I had been there before and never had this problem. I scheduled a 6pm appointment for a regular pedicure again to which I was told was good to go. I get sat immediately upon entry and told put my get into the water. My tech decided to file off my former nail polish with a machine which I think is odd but don't question as last time I questioned anything I was seen as the rude one. He asked to pick a color which I was then handed a box of color samples as usual. Once again when we get to the polishing part , he proceeds to put gel on my toes and tries to cure it. When I tell him that I asked for a regular pedicure , I am once again met with attitude. He begins to talk to the only other tech there in another language . And she informs me that I can get regular but I still have to pay for gel pedicure because they had to file the former gel off my nails! When I tell them that that was indeed regular polish, and I was certain because of my last encounter, the tech legit looks me in my eyes and says " I know that was gel but okay" and uses the towel my feet were cleaned on to wipe the gel off my nails. Both techs are giving me attitude at this point and I can tell they were mad I wanted a regular pedicure. He finishes and I ask should I sit under a fan to speed up the curing (so we can all put of there) and the other nail tech tells me they don't offer that. She also then proceeds to tell me: She had me down for a gel pedicure in the reservation book and that I should take responsibility for that. And that the color I chose was from a gel/regular combo which is how they come so that's why they were confused. And if I wanted a regular I should have chosen another color. (Mind you all the offerings come in a gel/regular combo AND I was given these offerings by the person doing my nails). And that when he sawed off the other color I should have said something. To which I replied "so I get all th attitude I'm getting now. " She replied "all the attitdue I was receiving was warranted because of me". *** rest of story is in photos. Update: my pinky nail is ruined again for being rushed out. Thanks

They keep appointments and are friendly. Nails are meh. I've seen two different people and each time had mediocre results. The first one messed up the shape of the nails and this one did a bad job applying the polish. In the pics you can see all sorts of flecks and bubbles (easier to see in person). Flooded one of my cuticles. Some of the nails are bumpy bc of the polish application. And patchy polish on the other hand (doesn't show up on pics). You can't see from far away so at least to other ppl they look good. It's a fine salon bc it's close to me and they do the job, but I go to a different salon on the regular. Fyi it's cash only. For a fill with two nail art pinkies, it was $55.

I loved this placešŸ˜. As I first time customer I was a little worried how it would be because I usually used to go all the way to south philly from university city. But it turned out to be the best decision. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. I would recommend everyone who is looking for a good place near university city in good price for nails who are frequents like me should definitely go there once. Jenny did great job with my šŸ’… Nails. I was so happy with the service and also with the atmosphere. They do take walk-ins but I would recommend to take prior appointments so the wait time can be cut-off.

I struggled with writing this review. I have been going to this nail salon for a while now and I am extremely disappointed for having to write a negative review but I felt compelled to write one. I went to the nail salon on 9/20/23. I usually have a nail tech I normally go to and he is wonderful! When I went yesterday he wasn’t there and another nail tech who was a women was working on my nails and pedicure. I always get the dip powder so I know what the process is like. This time the nail tech only did the first part which is the removal process of the dip with the machine they use. After that she immediately tries to start adding dip powder to my nails without wrapping my fingers nails in foil. So I stopped her and said wait your missing a step you didn’t wrap my nails in foil. She says something I didn’t really catch it but she pulls out the foil and begins to wrap my fingernails. Now it’s time to head to the pedicure chair. She does my pedicure and now we return to the station for her to do my nails. As she is doing my nails I sense she is in a rush and keeps looking at the white woman sitting at the station next to me getting her nails done. After about five minutes she says to me switch seats with her because that’s her client and she has been waiting to long and had an appointment. I say to her I also had an appointment and I have been her since 10am and right now it’s 11:30am. She continues to tell me to switch places with the white woman. I was very offended and felt very disrespected by her. I proceeded to switch seats and have the next nail tech work on my nails. I have never been treated so poorly. This made me feel as if the white woman couldn’t wait while a black woman was being serviced. I was extremely hurt and disgusted by her treatment and disregard for me. I was treated extremely poorly and was highly offended. I never received an apology which was extremely hurtful! My money and time is just as important.

Sincerely, Once...

If I could give these people 0 stars, I would. I've been coming here over a year. Saturday 6/29 I made an appt for 2pm at 10am that morning. I arrive on time and sign in and a woman I've never seen before asks if I have an appt. I advise my name and yes, I do. She claimed she never talked to me, and she doesn't have me down in her book. She further insulted me by demanding I read my number aloud because she never got a call from me; insinuating I called the wrong Diamond Nails. I had to call the shop in front of everyone to prove I in fact did have an appt. 10 minutes later a white woman walks in, and nobody says a word against whether she has an appt or not. They've raised their prices but clearly haven't raised their customer service. And, that woman never apologized to me for being WRONG about never speaking to me. I will never set foot in this salon again. Next time, don't be so money hungry and overbooked and then you become...
