Definitely worth visiting if you're visiting Independence Hall and/or the Ben Franklin Museum. It's free. It's a 15-30 minute visit. I gave only 4 stars because of the simplicity of the site. It's a replica printing office with demonstrations of how broadsheets and other items were printed in the 18th century. The people there were knowledgeable and friendly. Tip - if you want a copy of the Declaration of Independence, pay $5 here for a hand printed version that supports the National Park Service instead of $6 at a gift shop for a mass produced version.

When visiting Franklin court do make it a point to stop over here and see an actual demonstation of how Franklin used the original printing press. School groups normally stop here for the demonstration and it is interesting to note that the paper used in Colonial times were made of cotton. They have for sale various sayings written by famous people in Colonial times including Abigail Adams. Prices are minimal and make a great souvenir of your visit. This was where Franklin published his famous Pennsylvania Gazette back in the day.

Great printing press demo. Great explanation by the press operators. Interesting and informative visit for teenagers. It can get crowded if a school group is passing through and completely empty without. They have a variety of prints for sale that were printed from their prcious demos. The hours of operation on Google maps were incorrect, but the Rangers at Independence Hall advised us to visit. They were printing a document for 250th anniversary of the US Army when we there in June 2025.
