My youngest daughter has been attending swimming lessons here for two summers now. This year was particularly wonderful, with the instructor Katelyn, who helped my daughter go from being fearful to one who delightedly leaps into the pool and swims almost end to end. The facility could use a facelift, especially the showers and bathroom areas. They also could use a little more organization, especially at the start of lessons. It was confusing and stressful trying to find the correct class for my child to attend. The class sizes are indeed a bit large. The instructors could do with assistants. There were times when a teacher is working with a child, and the other children are left to wait their turn at the edge of the pool. Read moreI personally wasn't too pleased with this public pool. The lobby and the women's locker room reeked of urine. Should've been an indication of what to expect.
It seemed like my daughter and her friend were being singled out by the female lifeguards, which made them feel uncomfortable. The way the female lifeguards addressed my daughter and her friend was in a rude tone. Yet there was a group throwing a football back and forth taking up a large area of the pool. Later a couple of them were using the pool noodles in horseplay and nobody seemed to care.
It would've also been nice to know upfront (when paying), that kids would need to take a swimming test in order to swim in above chest level water.
