After waiting in line and when it was my turn , I was turned down by the cashier and pointed toward the other cashier who already had a line. I did as I was told thinking the cashier was closing and went to the other line and waited. Then the previous cashier pointed to the lady who was right behind me in the previous line and told her to proceed and started ringing her up. Both the customer who was behind me and the first cashier were speaking in Spanish. After waiting in my new line for few minutes, I paid then requested to see a manager. I then recognized that the manager was the same guy who was standing at the first cashier and watched this whole thing happen. I asked him why was I directed to another cashier when it was my turn with the first cashier and why she took the customer behind me. His answer was " I know this looks bad but it happens sometimes and it has nothing to do with speaking Spanish ". I have been in Aldi in Europe, the Midwest and SoCal. I have never seen something like this except in Aldi Pico Rivera. I fluently speak a second language but it isn't Spanish so was I required to speak Spanish for that certain line ? In lack of any other explanation from the manager, what am I to think? Shame on you Aldi for lowering your...

I wanted to share a disappointing experience I had during my recent visit. I stopped by on my lunch break to pick up a few essential items. Before shopping, I needed to use the restroom, and the security guard kindly unlocked the door for me. However, as I was about to enter, the register staff member (with long, straight black hair, eyeliner ) abruptly stopped me and stated I couldnāt use the restroom unless I made a purchase first.
I explained that I fully intended to shop but hadnāt yet picked up my items ā and there was already a 20-minute line at the register. Despite this, she insisted it was āthe new ruleā and refused to make an exception, even after I calmly explained the situation.
I completely understand that rules are in place, but I also believe staff should be able to use discretion and assess a situation with basic empathy and common sense. In this case, it felt unnecessarily rigid and unwelcoming. I ended up leaving and taking my business elsewhere ā which she didnāt seem to mind.
I hope this feedback helps improve future customer interactions. Iād like to continue supporting your store, but experiences like this make it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love everything about ALDI, so whenever I get to visit one that is outside of my general shopping area, I always check it out. This is the biggest one Iāve been to yet, out of four. I think this may be one of the places that the smaller stores send their out of season merchandise, returns, etc., that they donāt have room for. If thereās anything you might have wanted to purchase, and then it was no longer at your local Aldi, it might be worth checking here. There were quite a few items that were āone of a kind ā so there was no price on the shelf and I had to take them to the register so they could scan them to find out. I wasnāt planning on, or able to spend very much money that day, but when Iām able to do some serious shopping, Iāll go back there to pick up some of the things I liked around Christmas time and buy them at a much lower price. Besides the fact that they had the extra stuff that the other locations no longer did, it was almost exactly the same as the other ones I have been to- the floor plan and everything, except there was a lot more room in the aisles and never any problem with having to maneuver past other shoppers. I canāt wait to go back when Iām able to spend more money...
