It's been around since the 1970's. This is a very long single straight line strip mall. It includes banks, great restaurants and wonderful places to shop.
The tricky situation with Suniland shopping center is the flow of traffic. Their are two separate lanes for direction of travel. Pay attention to the signs and the arrows painted on the asphalt. The main entrance is at the SE corner off SW 112 st and US 1. This is located in the village of Pinecrest. Pinecrest police are picky about most laws. ESPECIALLY speeding. When you enter off the sw 112 st entrance, even though Walgreens and Bank of America are right there, you technically cannot go and park in front of them and conduct your business.
You would have to follow the direction of traffic and make a U-turn to get to some of the stores (Especially Runners Depot, BOA and Walgreens). When entering of sw 112 St, to Progress from North to South (numericals decreasing in number) you have to stay in the designated ONE way single lane through the shopping center. This is the South single lane of direction and its the one that is more parallel to US 1. The other single lane of directional traffic is north only and its closest to the strip mall shopping center. Luckily their are about 2-3 U-turn sections. This place has its parking places mostly filled throughout the day. It's a busy and congested area. Trying to exit this strip shopping mall, from some of the various egress points that goes straight from the strip shopping mall to us1, is very hard to do when there's so much traffic on US1 and it's all backed up and congested.
Your best bet is to use Southwest 112th Street and it's corresponding traffic light to make it to US1 or just leave Sunnyland Shopping...
Read moreThis is a very nice, interesting shopping center, with pleasant aesthetic and a great variety of businesses. But the 3 stars is for the traffic/parking pain. I haven't explored many of the shops because part of the reason I try to avoid coming here is the traffic and parking mess that you can get stuck in, even when it looks like there's enough parking. Almost every time I have ever visited this shopping center, I get stuck in a weird traffic jam where there are cars trying to exit to US1, but the traffic on US1 is so heavy that it's hard to exit, and then soon there's a line of cars trying to exit. Not all the cars are trying to exit, some just want to turn around to another side of the parking lot, but it only takes a couple of cars lined up at the exit for there to be a backup, and it can start preventing cars from backing out of their parking space to leave.
It really is best to avoid trying to exit from the shopping center onto US1 unless it's a very low traffic time like 11:30pm on a Tuesday night or something like that. You can exit onto one of the other streets and find a way around that way to avoid traffic headaches.
I guess it's a lot more enjoyable to go to this shopping center and explore the nice cafes and bookshop and other interesting shops if you live around the corner and can just walk or ride a bike there.
I wouldn't even want to ride the bus there because crossing US1 is a daredevil stunt. People who work there and ride the bus don't have a choice, but with all the speeding cars it...
Read moreI already wrote a lengthy review yesterday and posted it would've given them five stars due to Lewis our fantastic waiter🤗, but didn't due to the rudeness of the hostesses out front Brianna, and company(as per my previous post)!!!😰☹️😡I'm referring to Flannigan's food was excellent, and our waiter made my Friend's birthday special! However those two waitresses need training in restaurant hospitality and dealing with the public to say the very least!!! Had it NOT been for the fact that I was with my Friends and NOT driving my own car, I would've taken my business elsewhere like to the Coconut Grove branch! Brianna's counterpart/partner in crime(they were both in cahoots), was even much worst than Her(just...
