Let me tell you how disappointing the whole thing was. Management/owners are super cheap. The manager there is an absolute nightmare. Most of what she said is alone the lines of not my problem. Smh how do you run a business with such poor people skills?! The promotions they run as emails aren't actually promotions you literally save absolutely NOTHING. Read the fine print because there is ALWAYS a stipulation somewhere in there. "Save $20 on your next visit" and then in tiny printon the bottom of the page it says "must spend $120 on spa services" you could literally go in for a Swedish massage at $60 and come out having added a facial and buying 6 types of products just to be told "oh hey sorry but that coupon can't be used on products" or something else like that. They care more about selling memberships than they do about their actual clients or employees. When I came in as a client after my relaxing massage which was given to me by Tina whom I absolutely LOVE! (Seriously she's amazing!). I came out to the lobby and was ready to pay and go because I had an appointment afterwards. The manager was pitching me the membership and at first I said no thank you perhaps another time I'm kind of in a rush. And she just kept going and WOULD NOT STOP TALKING ABOUT THE MEMBERSHIP! I literally said no thank you 3TIMES i should honestly not have to say it more than twice. I just needed to leave so she stopped after a bit started to talking to me about something else while I was impatiently waiting to finish paying at this point I was starting to get a little tensed up again. I mean I had just had a massage I should have been staying relaxed. Not harassed. So she asked me again if I was sure I didn't want the membership that I would be paying regular retail next time I came in and blah blah. I said that was fine and no thank you (yet AGAIN) I finally finished paying and left but not before the manager introduced herself as the manager and said she'd hope to see me again. What I'm gathering from that experience is that Everything there is sell sell sell SELL! I was not thrilled at all.
My second time going to this location was better. the front desk girls are really very pleasant to deal with I can see that it does get busy so answering g the phones while checking me out did not bother me in the slightest. I again came in for a massage with Tina :). and came back out to pay I joined the membership because the front desk girl that was there was definitely not pushy like the manager we spoke a bit and were just talking for a little while. She was really very nice. The other girl that was there was folding the laundry and from what I saw the situation there is DISCUSTING! I did question her about it Because some of the towels that were in the front were dingy and ripped which I mean people come in after living in the outside world doing god only knows what. It's dirty, the laundry is never actually clean enough to be used. So I asked the girl why it was like that and she said that they separate the dingy ones so that they aren't used on clients The made me feel a little better but still wary. I mean you come in for a massage and a facial. Would you want that stuff touching your FACE?
I've gone in a few other times as well but as a whole I did t not feel comfortable staying there as much as I love going to Tina for massages. I cannot deal with management very well since there is always an issue. Membership canceled.
Good luck to any...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI made a last minute facial appt because my other one fell through at a different place. I was able to call and get an appt for that day and I could come right away. I arrived and they had me fill out a form. I had an appt with Aaron. He was very nice and listened to everything i wanted to take care of during the facial. The facial was very relaxing and he was a great esthetician. Kayla out at reception was also fantastic. except for the issues when signing up for memberships it seemed Kayla came from a different store and was not trained properly on the procedures at this new store. However while Kayla was signing me up, Melissa the desk Manager butted in and completely shut out Kayla as she was setting me up. To me this was so rude that she interrupted her. Melissa also stated all these policies that Kayla told me differently on. At this point Kayla was told to take care of a different customer and Melissa would handle me. Melissa was rude and arrogant to say the least and stated that i shouldnt go to any other Hand & Stone because they are the best and everyone else is not as good. Then I wanted to make an appt for my next facial and Melissa said Kayla could help me with that because she had to go to shoprite.... seriously. Then because Aaron wasnt put on the schedule yet because Melissa didn't update the schedule yet i had to wait for melissa to come back from shoprite and when she entered the spa she asked me if she could help me? like ive been there too long and she expected me to be gone by that time. I explained the situation to her and then made my appointment and left. I am sure there are other hand & stones that are much better. Not sure in this moment if i will return after my next facial. Only giving 3 stars because Aaron & Kayla...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThieves! They stole my money, charged my credit card without my authorization and treated me like I didn't show up for an appointment.
I went in for a massage today, showed up early. I even confirmed my appointment electronically and checked in on-line to make sure my forms were signed. Upon arrival the owner told me that I could not get my massage unless I signed a legal document mandated by corporate. Why was this document not provided prior to checkin? Why now after over 8 yrs as a customer, am I told I have to sign away my consumer rights to sue, mind you I've been going for a massage every 2 weeks.
The franchise owner treated me like a no-show and had the audacity to charge my credit card $60 without providing me a service. I was told I couldn't have the service, but got charged anyway. It's no wonder they wanted me to sign agreement saying I wouldn't sue, they are stealing money. Now I can't use the 5 massage credits I had banked, so they stole that money too.
How does this not violate my consumer rights? As an 8 yr customer of hand and stone I am appalled. I guarantee we will see a class action lawsuit for hand and stone in the near future.
They need to refund all my accumulated packages and refund the no show fee they...
