Stay at your own risk!! This place is lucky to call itself a hotel. It's a mystery how it passes any inspections. In short, I wouldn't stay again if they paid me. The instant I walked into the lobby, I was overtaken by an awful oder that smelled like dirty toilet water coming from a outhouse on a hot humid day. I dont know what I was thinking but I reluctantly checked in and made my way to the room. Had I known there were better options around I wouldn't have stayed, but my options were limited, so I bit the bullet and decided to stay one night. Upon walking in I felt a damp humid breeze and the room looked like something straight out of the 70's... like they just removed the dusty plastic sheets off the covers after many years of empy vacancy. The tables and counters where dusty and the complimentary coffee bags were OPENED and scattered. There was pee on and behind the toilet, and the bath looked so bad my girlfriend and I refused to shower in it. Unsurprisingly, the sheets were wet, so I walked back to the lobby and requested new bed sheets. The concierge was very unhelpful and instead of accomidating me, like she should with any paying customer, I was questioned as to why my bed sheets needed changing and she turned me away after explaining there was no one available on staff at those hours to change them for me. She didn't even offer me new bed sheets to change on my own.. No 24 hour service and it was only 5pm. I have never experienced a hotel to be so unprofessional or dirty in my life. Disappointed, I walked back to my room while the concierge continued her conversation with her friend that decided to visit her during her work hours... Nice! To my advantage I happen to live 45 minutes away so I was luckily able to go home and pick up bed sheets of my own. As a customer I do not feel like I need to ever give any explanation as to why I want my sheets changed or for any standard services that anyone might expect when staying at a hotel. Luckily we where able to find a way better hotel, "The Sheraton", for a similar price thanks to a special deal, and we checked out of this bestwestern the next morning along with one other customer that had similar complaints which the three of us bonded over while...
Read moreThis place was disgusting. I booked it on priceline because it was rated a 3-star hotel and it was cheaper than the other name brand hotels. This is a prime example of 'you get what you pay for'. Firstly, the phone system wasn't working "because it got struck by lightning" (cmon, seriously?), so you can't call ahead and ask questions or call from your room to the front desk. Then the king-size bed only had two thin, old pillows on it - not two on each side, TWO TOTAL. When I asked for more, they said they would "try and look for some." Some eventually turned up but the fact that there was even a question of not having extra pillows was crazy to me. There was a bunch of stuff broken in the room (a lamp, the hair dryer, the phone, a drawer) and the room itself was gross. I took some of the sheets off and you could see the telltale small black stains of bed bugs under the covers. We were literally scared to touch anything and made sure to wash EVERY piece of clothing we brought in. I was there with my girl and we did not feel safe whatsoever- the room next to us argued for 2 hours to the point where we considered calling the cops because we thought there was a domestic violence situation going on- couldnt call the front desk because again, no phones! The "hold" on my card took four days to get released even though they said it wouldn't even come out of my account. I've stayed at plenty of hotels and rented plenty of cars and trucks, and this looked like it was a charge, not a hold. No late checkout (we checked in around midnight, so I was pretty ticked off by that since you couldn't even call in advance to ask SINCE THE PHONES DONT WORK, which is crazy. See the pictures for the rest. The only reason we didn't turn around and walk right out was because it was after midnight, had just drove 4 hours, and the room was already paid for.
To whoever owns or runs this place- I own my own business and understand that nothing is perfect, but don't call your establishment 3 stars when you aren't. It's fine if you want to cater to a certain type of clientele- that's your business. But there is no way on earth you are running a 3 star hotel and shouldn't...
Read moreIt took me a couple of days to write this review because this experience really touched me. I went on July 10th to the property from NYC because I had to catch a flight from the Newark, NJ airport to Florida. 3 days before I arrive to the hotel, I lost my wallet, but thank God, I had my passport with me, so I had a valid ID. I didn’t have any of debit or credit cards due this incident and before I make the reservation online (Because even though when I didn’t have the physical card with me, I had the virtual version of card for online purchases), I went to the front desk to explain my situation. Immediately after I said the first phrase, the energy and the attitude that CRISTAL gave me it was out this world. She explained that according to the rules, you can’t do check in without a debit or credit card (what I totally understand) but she was just hitting me with facts and that horrible attitude towards me. I told me I knew she couldn’t do anything about it, but I was asking for a little bit of EMPHATY. With all the respect, I can say, Cristal is one the horrible person I ever met in my life. She has a lot of resentment and hatred inside her. It has a very dark energy. She should never have access to work with customer service again in her life. I asked for help to one of the guests that was there, and she immediately confronted me and told me that I couldn't ask anyone at the hotel for help and that she would call the hotels around to make sure that no one would help me. How much hate can there be inside someone to do such a thing? My surprise? She did it. When I went to the holiday inn where they helped me out after I explained my situation, she was on the phone trying to persuade the front desk ladies to don’t help me. But at the Holiday inn, they helped me out I will be forever grateful with them. They treated me with kindness, and they were empathic. I still can’t believe that I had to experienced that. I can’t say anything about the hotel, but I can talk about the staff. 0/10. Worst experience ever. I hope Human resources take actions towards these kinds of acts and...
