Review for the top station. You pay for your trips (both ways) whenever you are at the bottom station. 5 dollars per person for a round trip (cash only - exact amount only, there is a change maker at the bottom of the station if you need it). Do a 10 min walk over once you get to the top for some great overlooks. The top is a lot cooler (more things to do) than the bottom. Cars run regularly and quickly, you will not have to wait long to go back. Small gift shop kiosk at the top. Other pictures of cool things about the area/inclines at the top.

I parked up top on a Sunday and it was free street parking. There is metered parking any other day (not that many spaces so you many have to park below in a paid lot).

The view is great and it's a great Pittsburgh experience you should probably do...

$5 round trip, exact change ONLY, they will growl at you. The change machine dispenses dollar coins, so expect a pocket full of change if all you have is a $20. You put the money in the box—don’t hand it to the person behind the window! If you’re buying a round trip, they will give you a slip of paper to present at the other end. The view is beautiful and the trip is short. But if you don’t know what you’re doing, the employees are not terribly friendly or helpful.

Parking was $10 at the bottom, even though it was supposed to be $5. I guess today was a special event? Or as I call it: Wednesday. So $10 for less than an hour.

One note: there is no restroom at the top, and a porta potty at the bottom. Plan...

Great view of the city! I would recommend starting at the bottom. It’s a nice reveal of the city as you ascend. There is a parking lot at the bottom which is fairly cheap. For the incline, you pay (cash only) at the bottom, go up, then can wander around the viewing platform and the nearby stores for as long as you want. If you start from the top, you pretty much go down, pay, then go back up since there isn’t anything to do at the bottom.

If you’re afraid of heights or get nervous on shaky park rides, I would not recommend riding. The cars and track retain their classic charm which means the ride is a bit bumpy and jerky.

A nice addition to your trip if you want...
