11/2/2025 Steelers game. Upon entering the stadium, I was told by the entry staff that I would have to go to secondary "seating". My group, who had my ticket, were ahead of me in the line and were being corralled into the building. My group went left, while I was being directed right. I asked for clarification several times about secondary "seating" and being told ma'am ma'am ma'am over and over without her answering or letting me explain my elderly father had the tickets and my elderly group needed to be told where I was being led to. I'm trying to get my hard of hearing father's attention over the music, over the crowd noise, over her shouting ma'am. I'm trying to get the staff member to listen to me and to please explain what is happening. With the girl not listening, I said "wait a minute, I need to tell my group." and started to proceed left to inform my father what was happening. She YELLED ma'am AGAIN and I hollered back "WAIT A MINUTE!". I went over told my group what was happening and proceeded to where they directed me. Turns out she meant secondary screening not "seating". Ok, things are making sense now. I have a clear bag with 3 items in it, tissues, my wallet, and breath mints. Unreal to be screened but whatever, I'm all about being safe. When I get back to the area where my group is now waiting on me, a police officer is there and a supervisor threateningly comes over, stands between me and my group of old folks, looks down her nose at me and asks if I yelled at her staff member. I am completely sober, did what they asked, blindly compliant. Now I'm dumbfounded. The staff member can completely ignore my questions, explain nothing, and talk over me while I'm trying to explain I've been separated from my group, but I'm not allowed to shout over her. Now they are threatening my admission to the game over me hollering back "wait a minute." I didn't scream obscenities. No alcohol or drugs are involved. No threats made. Just the dumb, snowflake staff, who did not take time to correct their mistake of saying secondary "seating", who allowed me to be separated from my group, and not explain why, are bent out of shape because I shouted "wait a minute". Thank goodness the police officer witnessed the entire thing. If he hadn't, that supervisor, with the little power flex she has that makes her feel important, would have barred my entrance. I understand they are there for safety, but you can't isolate someone from their group without someone from the group's knowledge. THAT WAS THREATENING. To the supervisor that informed me and the officer that my yelling wasn't called for... train your staff to listen and answer simple questions, to make sure they aren't separating people from their group instead of talking over and snatching them up with no...
Read moreThis review is solely based on the stadium’s provision for handicapped patrons. First, purchasing tickets is risky—you purchase standard tickets and then are instructed to arrive “as early as possible” to stand in line and try to rush (clearly the person establishing these protocols has never been or supported a handicapped person) to Guest Services to exchange your ticket for a handicapped access ticket, including a plus one. As this is “first come first serve” you have no guarantee of your seat nor the ability to have a seat in a handicapped seating close to your purchased ticket. In addition, because there is a limit of a single “plus one” any other family members will not be able to enjoy the experience with them. We have had this experience before but love the Steelers so we still make the choice to go and try to make the most of it. My uncle is in the late stages of Parkinson’s and limitations are heavy. During what we anticipate will be his last game, my brother and I hung around in the handicapped section with my dad and uncle as long as we could prior to the game beginning to make the memories. We were told by several security personnel, “you will need to find your seat when the game starts” to which we said that we understood. Closer to the game, a group of (3) young, attractive women, dressed in alluring attire, came and found a seat in the section next to my uncle. Like my brother and I, they did not have the permitting wristband so we anticipated we would all be leaving at the same time. However, as the game approached, we were told to find our seats and the were allowed to stay. I asked, “can you tell me why they get to stay? This is likely my family members final game and, if there are means, I would like to find those, too.” There was a lot of confusion and conversation amongst the security but, eventually, we were told, “those are player family members.” I have no way to verify this but do know that there are box seats and even better seats then where we were sitting. It sends a definitive message when supposed “players’ family members” are routed or even permitted to take the available seats of people that struggle every step of the experience already. This occurred in section 135 at the Steelers/Dallas game. Do better Acrisure. Happy to provide pictures of the people if that helps. I’d love to know who’s family’s wants takes precedence over the needs of...

4 Stars
The Acrisure Stadium Rib Festival, held annually along Art Rooney Avenue and newly expanded to W. General Robinson Street, is always a much-anticipated event in Pittsburgh, marking the official kickoff to the Steelers football season. Having attended the festival for many years, this year's event on September 2, 2024, was no exception in delivering a fantastic experience, albeit with a few hiccups.
The weather on the final day of the festival was absolutely perfect—an ideal end-of-summer day that set the stage for a great time with friends and family. The event featured a variety of national rib vendors from across the country, each bringing their unique style and flavors to the table. It's fascinating to see the diversity in BBQ techniques, especially when it comes to the proteins—ribs, brisket, chicken, and turkey—that take center stage at this festival.
Our group, seasoned veterans of the Rib Fest, decided to split into teams to maximize our food-tasting opportunities. This strategy allowed us to sample a wide array of offerings from different vendors, which was a smart move given the long wait times. The only downside to the event was the lengthy queues. We spent over an hour in line just to place our orders, which dampened the experience slightly. However, the quality of the food largely made up for the inconvenience.
The live music added a fantastic vibe to the event, providing an enjoyable backdrop as we indulged in our BBQ feasts. The festival truly embodies hometown pride, bringing together Steelers fans and BBQ lovers alike in a celebration that’s both delicious and spirited.
As reflected in the attached photos, the festival was vibrant and well-attended, with vendors showcasing regional BBQ styles and the community coming together for a shared love of great food and football. Despite the long wait times, the overall experience was positive, and I would definitely recommend the Rib Fest to anyone looking to kick off the Steelers season with a bang.
