My friends and I went to the amc in Plymouth meeting last night to go see a movie and hang out with friends. The 3 of us were waiting for our other 2 friends, when this woman came up to us. She claims that the 3 of us were acting shading just standing there waiting for our friends. We told her we were waiting for our friends, and then she asked us what movie we were seeing. We told her we were seeing unfriended and then she carded us, because the movie was rated R. Did I also not mention, she was not standing at the door ripping ticket stubs, so she already wasn’t doing her job because she wasn’t at her post. Out of the 3 of us, my other friend and myself showed her our ids. She denied my friend’s id because it wasn’t a proper id according to her. My friend gave her a school id and a birth certificate which seems like good enough identification. Nope! The lady said it is not a form of id. So the two of them had to go and exchange their tickets, and then the same lady went behind the counter, she was giving my friends new tickets. Then she was being extremely rude, telling them to hurry up and pick a movie because they’re were other people in line. So they did and then we went back in line to get our ticket stubs ripped off. The lady finally was doing her job and was ripping stubs. I gave her my ticket and I was nervous that she was gonna card me again. So my friend and I told her that she already checked mine. Then she went off of my friend saying “ I know! I have to rip the ticket, so please let me do my job! “ I was like “seriously, you could have said it nicely. “ Then she gave me back my ticket and then she told me where my movie was but she said it very rudely and with a nasty face and then “ I said okay but next time say it nicely.” My friends and I were very mad about the whole situation, I asked some of the employees what the lady’s name was and if their manager was available. After I got the information, we took it up to the manager and at first I didn’t know if he could comprehend what was going on. We were so angry about this lady and then he said he understood our concern and he was going to go and talk to her. Honestly, if I was a manager of a place where your dealing with people at all time. I personally would fire them of the bat, because last night was so uncalled for and unnecessary. To be honest, I really hope that lady gets fired, so I don’t 100% recommend this theater because of some of the poor customer service, now most of the employees are nice and they were nice enough to help me address the problem. Honestly because of that woman I wouldn’t go back to...
Read moreI was really disappointed with the experience I had at this AMC. This whole theatre was disgusting. There was trash everywhere, the concession stand was covered in garbage and spilled popcorn and drinks, which seemed pretty nasty to me. I stopped at the bathroom, and the trashcan was overflowing to the point that there were piles of paper towels, popcorn buckets, and fountain cups all over the floor. The toilets were filthy, and it smelled horrible in there. I ordered my tickets and refreshments in advance, and I was told that my food order would be ready for pickup at 8:30 (same time that my tickets were for). I ended up having to ask the one person at the concession stand for my order when the time hit 8:35 and I got anxious that I’d miss my showing. He hadn’t even started preparing it. I could understand if it had been busy, but we were the only people waiting, and this guy didn’t even acknowledge us until the other guy behind the counter prompted him to. We approached our theatre at nearly 8:40 to find that everyone was waiting outside. They were still cleaning out the theatre 10 minutes past our showtime. I get that late starts happen sometimes, but the previews were already rolling, and by the time they let us in it was still filthy in there. Our seats were sticky and covered in popcorn and trash. When the film began, nobody bothered to turn the lights off in the theatre. We were all sitting there in a fully lit room until one of the other viewers got fed up and went to turn the lights off themselves. My partner’s seat wouldn’t fully recline and just flat out stopped working partway through the show, which left him uncomfortable for much of the showing. Considering how expensive these outings are, I expect to at least have my order completed on time and for the lights to be turned off when the show starts. I will say that the folks who checked our tickets were really friendly, as well as one of the young men I interacted with at the concession stand, but unfortunately that’s all the positive feedback I have to give. This is a beautiful theatre, and if it was actually cared for properly I think this would have been a really pleasant viewing experience. I had been to this theatre years ago and had a great time, but this time around was a serious letdown. I feel awful for the people who work here, because it seems like there is a serious lack of leadership and an understandable...
Read moreJust wanted to share a quick review and shout out the customer service at this location. While I did have an issue with my seat reclining, I was able to move to another chair very easily as my theater was less than half full. The concession line was basivally non existent, so my food was served promptly and everyone said hello and/or smiled. But the big thank you comes to the girl at the front desk and the guy who was cleaning up the theaters. When I walked out of the theater it had apparently started snowing, so I wanted to get to my car quickly to try and clear everything off. At some point I realized my phone was not in my pocket and I panicked. I went back inside the theater and explained the situation to the girl at the front desk. u Unfortunately she could not find a flashlight for me to try to look inside my car in case it fell down somewhere, but when I had a quick freak out that maybe I dropped it in the trash along with my food after the movie, she asked the guy who'd been cleaning the theaters for help. He was super nice and polite and pulled out the trash to try and find it. He also didn't make me feel like an idiot for possibly dropping my phone in the trash can. It unfortunately wasn't there, but he offered to check the theater I was in just in case. And when that was unsuccessful, and I went back to the front desk they took my information, and the guy asked if I needed him to call an Uber for me. It was unnecessary as I had my car, but I really appreciated the offer. I'm sorry I didn't catch their names. But really, thank you. A little kindness...
