This hotel has some great pros but not sure they are enough for me to stay here again given the various other Marriott properties where I have stayed and had a much better Marriott experience.
Pros: -Shopping, the mall is within walking distance
-Other shopping (Target, DSW, Ross, etc.) is a short drive away
-Various restaurants close by
-Close to major highways, the PA turnpike and 476 (the blue route)
-Fairly updated hotel
Now on to why I said what I said at the beginning. My check in experience was without issue but the person checking me in didn't seem to appreciate my business, instead moreso she seemed to just be going through the motions. She didn't crack one smile or offer one pleasantry. She made no mention of the extra points or item from the store I was entitled to as a platinum member, let alone acknowledge that at all. As I came and went from the hotel, the staff only seemed to acknowledge or speak if I did so first. This was also the case when I encountered the housekeeping staff on my floor. So the customer service experience for me was lacking... it didn't make me feel like a valued customer, which I would think, especially in this time of covid, when the hospitality industry is starving and desperately trying to keep people on payroll, there would be more of an appreciation from the frontline staff.
My room for the most part was okay, however the attention to detail left something to be desired. Our bathroom door had no lock on it, toothpaste or some type of white cream was on one side of the bathroom handle and something blue/green was on the other side of the handle. There were specks of white and brown on the walls where the sink is. That being said, the rest of the room and bathroom seemed to be clean, however how they missed cleaning what I observed I really can't explain and I expected better from Marriott.
Lastly, not only was the mini refrigerator in our room loud, sounding like Darth Vader during our entire time there (at different points we mistook the sound for snoring), but also the cabinet holding the refrigerator was all chipped up. Why would this not be addressed, I get it's only aesthetics, but again, not what I've come to expect from Marriott.
It had been quite a while since I stayed at this Marriott property, at least 10 years I would guess and it may be another 10 years, if I...
Read moreSpent the night there after the snowstorm blew into the area, courtesy of my company who've offered to put us up there rather than have us risk going home. The place was nice and cozy, and every step was taken to ensure social distancing. The front desk had plexiglass and the staff wore masks; they were very courteous. My room was clean, cozy and comfy; there was a coffee maker and a mini-fridge in the room; the bed was a lovely queen with pillows, blankets, and sheets; there was also a little sofa, as well as a patio with two chairs and a table overlooking the front (would've been absolutely perfect if the weather was better). There was two down points, however: one was the microwaves, and the other was breakfast. There were TWO microwaves for the entire hotel, one in the lobby, and the other located in the gift shop (just left of the front desk); the one in the gift shop also had utensils. A bit of an inconvenience to come down from one's room just to heat up food, then take it back up to the room to eat it. As far as breakfast, before covid19 hit, hotels had complementary breakfast for the guests to partake of to start the day (usually coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk, oatmeal, cereal, breads, sometimes Belgian waffles-make it yourself-and eggs), and you get to meet with other guests before going out or checking out. Here, you pay for breakfast (Starbucks coffee is featured), and options are more limited, and a bit expensive. Fortunately, I brought in my own food for breakfast (strawberries and chocolate peanut butter), plus with the coffee maker in the room, so I didn't have to spend money. But it's walking distance from the Plymouth Meeting Mall, so you're not limited in shopping options. Aside from those two issues, I highly recommend staying here (during better weather, obviously, to...
Read moreThe staff at this hotels phenomenal!! So incredibly and genuinely nice. They actually cared if I was happy and satisfied. From the housekeeper to front desk! The hotels clean and no real maintenance flaws. The pools a lil small but clean and refreshing. Hot tub was nice. The breakfast we didnt eat B.C. we missed it. No prices on the menu but im thinking it was produced by Starbucks bc that's the coffee service...so you are left to assume its expensive. Im not complaining, the front desk lady was stuck making my drink and i had a horrid caffeine withdraw headache. She did a wonderful job and I got free coffee that day so im def not complaining. It was nice to be able to just relax and drink my favorite coffee all day! She was very concerned about my headache. I also got locked out 1st thing bc my SO went to find coffee not realizing starbucks was there he took both keys and i went to smoke before he got back with nasty Sunoco day old coffee and my head was pounding, eyelids swollen, rough shape. The front desk lady never got her name but she has blonde braids was so very nice made my coffee, brought it to me, and made a copy of my key without me asking! The rooms very clean bathrooms clean. I would go back to this place just to "hide and relax" lol. They were just so friendly. We were lookin for something to do and were goin to go to Dave and Busters for dinner, the same lady recommended we go early bc of crowds she knew we had our 8 yr old son and man im glad i listened. I wish EVERY hotel had staff like this. They DEFINITELY need to be recognized bc im in customer service and people like that are hard to come by. Honestly the "general manager" or maybe she was "operations manager" she was short and had braces...she made me feel uncomfortable and judged..but the people shes in charge of...
