Michaels — Local services in Plymouth Township

We drove 40 minutes to this specific Michael’s b/c when we looked online, this store supposedly had 10 skeins of the yarn we needed. Upon arrival, no skeins of the yarn were on display. I asked the one employee I cpuld find if they might have it in the back. He said that yes, they had boxes and boxes of it in the back and that periodically over the next few days, it would be restocked. I told him we’d driven a long way and asked if he could try to grab it now. He said that wasn’t possible. I asked him if he could bring one of the boxes out so we could go thru and find it. He said that would not be possible. I’m not sure if this was a case of an unhelpful employee or an employee who was not empowered by his employer to problem solve for the customer. Either way, we left for our 40 minute drive home without the yarn that was in the store just not accessible as stated on the website. And we’ll find another place to buy...

One star for the people behind the register being friendly. Otherwise, used them as a UPS drop off point that's on my way home. They don't seem to have a system to keep packages safe/easily located. The manager was called when my package couldn't be found. She came over and said, "yeah?" and proceeded to blame UPS for not taking it off the truck. When I explained that I'd received an email from UPS confirming it was at the store and that I understood UPS scans each item as they take it off the truck... SHE ROLLED HER EYES!!!! , told me "I don't know what to tell you cause it's not here". I decided to contact UPS directly, left the store and later noticed an email saying "thanks for picking up your item" ??? Called Michael's store and another friendly person answered and said, "oh, it's here"!!!!! The manager did not come out to apologize. Micheal’s is now Self Check out Kiosk! I could not find decent help! When I entered I wanted direction b/c I knew what I wanted. When ask the question, the young man was babbling about bottles and all kinds of things that I never even asked about. I said thank you and moved on to find everything on my own. There was one lady in a red Michael’s vest who did help me- she was in the middle of a store! When I was checking out, I put in My Phone Number, but I never saw that identified me it never said my name! I didn’t know if it took the correct phone number or if I could’ve made a mistake on the keyboard! There was a problem, scanning what I bought, and the inept person behind the desk could not help me!
