Firstly, I am a former AMC manager from a market in Texas. I have been to a ton of AMCs and seen how different managers operate their buildings and how their teams are trained. I have to say this is the worst one I have been to.
Upon entering the building, it was very clear the AC either did not work, or was barely running. We were not greeted at all by the concessions team who were leaning against the counter doing nothing while the lobby and their counters were beyond unacceptable. When we walked up to the counter, we were greeted with, "What you want?" When we ordered our tickets, she sucked on her teeth and just pointed to the screen. We ordered concessions, which the other concessionist, instead of helping and preparing the concessions, stood there and stared with his jaw hanging open. When we were handed out tickets, we weren't told what theater to go to, just, "That way," and a point.
Before getting to the actual concessions, I want to talk about the counter space. It was sticky with spilled something, crumbs from various foods scattered about, and a layer of dust was on the display cases. The freestyle machines were disgusting. They looked like they haven't actually been cleaned in weeks. The button was extremely sticky and a layer of congealed sugar was on the tray you place your cup to get ice and soda. The butter stations were also extremely grimy and sticky with a massive layer of grime or mold at the base of every tower. The station on the right did not work at all, and the station on the left shot the butter out like a water hose and splashed all over my arms and clothes.
As for the concessions, the popcorn was extremely stale and cold, and also tasted like it was from earlier that morning. The drinks were at least cold and enjoyable, despite the gross freestyle machines.
As for the hallways towards the theater, only one theater had their marquee working. They also were littered with popcorn that looked like it was just swept up against the wall.
The door to the theater was sticky and stuck. Had to actually pull the door hard and it made a sticky popping sound. The inside of the theater was very hot and humid. The seats were uncomfortable and scratchy, as well as damp. The floors were also dangerously slippery in our row. The curtains around the screen were very damaged and tattered, with one of the top curtains hanging down partially on the display area of the projector. Immediately was aware that only the front speakers of the theater were operational and only the front left side at that. It was also very quiet and if you had popcorn in your mouth, you couldn't hear the movie despite hearing the movie next to us drown out ours every few moments. The exit sign by the screen also did not have a cover or film over the light and the green glow cut out the bottom left quarter of the screen.
The bathrooms... There was bodily fluids all around the stalls and urinals with toilet paper everywhere on the ground. The counters were grimy and had a film of... something covering the surface. Also, the smell was unbearable, as if something dead was in the walls. The bathrooms have definitely not been cleaned the night before.
I understand this building is an old Carmike Theater and before that a Rave Theater, but holy crap AMC, this makes me sad to see a theater this bad. I took great pride working for this company and seeing the state of this theater, hurt. It is in need of a desperate renovation or shutter it like you did with the Hickory Creek Theater during covid (the exact same building style).

I waited an entire year to finally watch the new Stitch movie with my family, and this experience was completely ruined by AMC’s poor management — specifically by a manager named Bob.
We arrived on Friday night at 9 PM to catch the 10:30 PM showing. The earlier showing was full, so we bought tickets for the later one using movie passes that were given to us after a previous issue at this same theater. Despite that earlier problem, we decided to give AMC another chance. Big mistake.
We immediately asked the security guards to call the manager, Bob, to help us reserve our seats since we were using passes. We waited 15–20 minutes for him, but he never showed up. Eventually, the security guard kindly walked us to the concession stand, where a helpful young employee issued us tickets for seats G9, G10, and G11. While the employee was printing our tickets, Bob finally appeared, standing nearby and watching the transaction — so he was fully aware of which seats we had selected and that they were available at the time.
Fast forward to the movie — we’re seated when a woman shows up claiming we’re in her seats. Both of us go to speak with Bob to resolve the situation, and this is where things got even worse. Bob wouldn’t make eye contact with me, spoke in a demeaning tone, and immediately acted like we were at fault. He offered no explanation, no solution, just said, “You’ll have to change your seats,” with attitude and zero professionalism.
When I tried to explain that he personally saw us receive those exact seats earlier, he dismissed me and said there was “nothing he could do.” I found his tone extremely rude, careless, and unprofessional — especially from someone in a management role. He showed no interest in resolving the issue fairly, nor did he seem to care about customer satisfaction.
This was supposed to be a special, positive night — a chance to create a better memory after the last bad experience. But Bob made sure that didn’t happen. It’s clear he’s not trained to handle conflict or basic customer service, let alone lead a team as a manager.
We won’t be returning to this location, and I strongly recommend others avoid it too. Save your money and your time. AMC, do better — especially with who you trust to...
Read moreThe employees are always helpful and they range from doing their job professionally to very nice. We go there once a week only because it's the only theater in PSL. The bathrooms range very very dirty to disgusting, we try to wait until we get home because it really turns my stomach in there sometimes. 2-3 sinks are working, and people are always walking to each one to find one that works. Rather than filling the soap dispensers, they usually have 1 huge bottle of it on the sink. There's always paper towels available. There are only numbers on maybe half the theaters, so if you don't know the numbering system you will be walking around looking for your theater, because they seem to really not want you to know what movie is playing in which theater. We are usually helping someone find their movie. I made the mistake one time of taking a pic inside a theater to show I was the only one there, BIG MISTAKE, the flash caught all the dirt on all the chairs, you can see the years of dirty heads against the seats. I realize they can't be cleaning all the seats, but I don't know there has to be something to help with that, even if it's a yearly cleaning. Clean 10 seats/night. So I bring wet wipes now, I wear pants, no shorts. I wipe my area down and don't rest my head back against the seat and try not to use the bathroom if I can avoid it. Follow these tips and you'll be just fine. I really enjoy watching movies in the theater though, I just wish there was a cleaner/better one in town, even just cleaning the bathrooms would make a huge difference, for the amount we spend to see a movie there, they should be thankful they have any customers, but I can see why the business has dwindled so much. It's rarely busy enough that the staff doesn't have time to do it, unless they are tremendously understaffed, if that's the case they shouldn't be open, cleaning the bathroom at a minimum of once a day isn't a luxury it should be mandatory practice for any place with public restrooms. It's not a matter of that they don't continuously get cleaned, with the lack of business I see there, I only go on wknds, so I don't know how slammed they are during the week, if they clean them 1-2/day it would be a...
