Be warned! I called asking if Peacock Spa had any availability at the moment, and they said yes. I arrived 5 minutes later and I was told I never called, but I confirmed the phone number. The woman working asked if I could come back in 40 minutes for a couples massage. I said okay. Before I left I asked if there was 2 female masseuses, and was told that yes. When I arrived again after the 40 minutes, my husband and I were guided to the room and after we undressed we waited there for about 10 minutes. Then, the masseuse started on my husband for about 10 minutes and no one was massaging me! I asked if anyone was coming to massage me, and the woman went to go find someone. Then, a man came in the room to massage me, and I asked the woman if there was a woman that could massage me because I did not feel comfortable, she said no. I told her that was the whole reason I asked if there were 2 female masseuses. I asked the woman to massage me and the man to switch and go massage my husband, the woman gave me attitude. Next, I ask for a deep tissue massage which was the whole reason I was getting a massage because of how tense my shoulders and neck was but the whole time all the woman did was rub my back :( I know the difference between a Swedish and deep tissue. So upsetting! Once my husband was done receiving his hour massage, she stopped my massage, I did not get the whole hour. On our way out my husband left a tip and the woman HARASSED us and said our tip was not good enough!! Quite frankly, my massage and experience at Peacock Spa was unpleasant. The woman said there is a minimum tip requirement, and that is unheard of!!! I explained to her that a tip is not mandatory (even though we left one) and is to be how left according to how we liked our service. The scene she mad was so unethical and when we finally left she had an attitude and did not say bye...
Read moreI received a foot/ reflexology massage in the spa which was fine as the masseur was thorough. However upon checking out it was disconcerting that the price that I was quoted over the phone upon making the 1230PM appointment which was $50.00 was not what was collected which was $74.00 with adding 4.00 for the use of my credit card. I felt the cost of service was deceptive and the 4.00 charge for credit card use is another means to make money from off of the service render. Charging customers 4.00 additional dollars for the use of a credit card should be mentioned when appointments for service is being made. I asked if there would be a fee to run card as a debit transaction and was told yes as it would not make a difference. That was a red flag. Normally this is an option presented to customers in other merchant settings to avoid the card service fee charge. Prospective customers beware if you elect to patronize this business of the credit card service fee . Make sure you double check the cost of the selected service twice once upon booking an appointment and prior to massage service, as had I known the price would change to paying 24 additional dollars after service rendered I would not have gotten the reflexology foot l hour massage. I must say in all my years of receiving spa services this is the first and will be the last time I patronize a place of business that doesn't have all the cost of services clearly posted either on the website or clearly displayed...
Read moreDisappointing experience.
I went to Peacock Day Spa for my birthday, unfortunately this was far from a "Day Spa". The massage itself was good, but several aspects of the experience were disappointing.
First, the setup lacked privacy. There were no doors for the massage rooms, only curtains in the doorways, which made me uncomfortable while undressing. Additionally, I did not meet my masseuse until 5-8 minutes after I was already laying face down on the massage table. It would have been a much better experience to meet them beforehand for a proper introduction.
The worst part, however, was the front desk service. After my session, the front desk attendant (not my masseuse) opened up my cash tip in front of me and told me I hadn't tipped enough to make it 20%, saying I "owed" $5 more. Mind you, I gave 18% and felt this was appropriate for my less than desirable experience as mentioned above. This felt incredibly inappropriate and pressured. What if I didn't want to or couldn't afford to give more?
While the massage was decent, the lack of privacy and unprofessional customer service ruined my experience. I will not be returning and cannot...
