The park is amazing, with beautiful views, well maintained areas and a great playground - we love coming here for how beautiful it is. The beach, however, is very difficult to call a “beach”. It’s been a few years since we’ve been here so if you’re planning on lugging your little kiddos here with an idea of how it used to be - pivot that plan! We used to love this beach - but I returned with my kids this week to find logs blocking the beach entrance and no beach to be seen. It’s basically a walkway. I hope Port pays a little TLC to this beach in the future so people can at least get to it without climbing logs (though I understand they can’t control the erosion and cliffs). The park is still worth a visit. It’s really a...
Read moreVery pretty park located on Lake Michigan. Upper area has ample parking, multiple play sets and play areas for kids. Various shelters along with benches and picnic tables. The views are fantastic, and you can take a staircase down to the beach. Depending on tide, you may want to bring good sturdy walking shoes for rocks. We had the beach to ourselves, we're able to go in the water, look for sea glass, and just enjoy the afternoon. We did take her to school age children with us, and they were able to make the it down no problem. Would bring...
